  • daaaammmmnnnn!! I would love to fly that!

  • What a gorgeous looking aircraft. Even my missus and two teenage daughters like it and they are not interested in planes at all. I miss it alot. :(

  • can i buy one? they look so fun

  • san andreas

  • good mashine. I want one like that

  • @4wheelerDJ, That happened because a piece of debris went through the wing of the Concorde and it exploded, nothing to do with the Concorde, its all down to the French not maintaining their runways properly.

Also MrFuFighter, the Harrier Jet was British designed and built, look it up. I don't know why, but whenever Great British invents something the rest of the world claims its theirs, everything we invent is the best in the world.

  • i thought this was top gear for a second haha

  • If British engineering is the best in the world then why is your Concorde fleet (great aircraft up until one of them crashed from a random fluke event) sitting in a museum instead of being technologically UPGRADED such that the tragic crash wouldn't be repeated? Too expensive to upgrade or redesign? Sorry...not buying that excuse.

  • Stolen from Germany.

  • @MrFuFighter Nope.

  • Like flying into a giant marshmallow ...... mmmmmmm, marshmallow ........

  • im surprised there is no COD comments

  • BRITISH ENGINEERING .... Still the finest in the World.... Love that its presented by MR COOL himself.... Captain Slow...

  • @hernandezrivas best in the world? hahaha, FAIL

  • Ear protection? What a puss....

  • it's weird to think that this extremely skilled harrier pilot is now probably without a job thanks to the cuts :(

  • These would have been really handy in Libya.

  • @brokenpipe Why would they have? We just deployed Tornados which were much more suitable...

  • WHAT HE SAYS IS GODD THOSE AIRPLANES ARE CRAPS RUSSIANS MIGS ARE THE BEST

  • It's time we upgrade this technology for the 21stC./ This planet deserves a better class of transportation.

  • let me sum it up for you.. this is the battlefield series.

want to see the cod series?? go watch a paintball game.

  • i wonder how it wld feel to stand under that O.o

  • that's the handbrake

  • Look at them British people have to use John Murphy in a house without a heartbeat :D

  • isn't that the guy who drove the bugatti veyron to 407 km/h?

  • YAK-38 anyone?

  • The Harrier is the only aircraft to pull this VTOL stunt? What about a V-22 Osprey?

  • @patcoston osprey isnt a jet

  • @patcoston the American F-35, which isn't in production yet, will be the second jet to achieve this. Its technology is much more advanced than the Harrier, since the British jet came out in (American variant in 1985) while the F-35 is set to be produced in 2016

  • @yomama629

it is good to see the JSF working togeather to incorporae countries tech

  • @yomama629 They are already in production

  • @yomama629 Harrier went into service with the RAF in 1966.

  • @hisveggieness yeah, I was talking about the US variant that the USMC used, and which will soon be replaced by the F-35B

  • James May :D

  • Great plane from England , saw it fly at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in the last air show at the base in California . The video does not do it Justice. It is just incredible how fast it can slow down in mid flight while being chased and then back up to speed again, also how fast a oil tanker can be made into an aircraft carrier I think it took the Brit's 2 weeks when preparing for 1982 Falklands War.

  • Make a civilian model. I WANT ONE!

  • @UltraMif71 $35 million

  • @BlueAzelf777 Good luck with those thumbs...

  • @BlueAzelf777 lol you begged for thumps up..ended up getting so many thumps down...serves you right =)

  • @kelnology your daddy?

  • so the harrier was designed by the french but was actualy built and tested by the brits.

  • @ALLERTORLOVER69

the french thought of the idea of vtol and were aboout to do it but we taken over

  • One man, one fan, standing alone on his four pillars of pure power. THE carbon-fibre death provider.

  • those fucking brits have potty mouths

  • @coolyo366 im a brit for fuck sake do you no your history in the 1800's there was no one in the usa so the brits as you call them sailed to the usa you fucking nobhead

  • @supersillybillybob

I'm a Brit also. The declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. I just thought I would point that out.

  • @coolyo366

those yanks have bellies like the michelin man

  • And if the Ynaks had done it, NO mention of the French guy would have been made. As it is, when the Ynks DO talk about the Harrier, they NEVER mention that the English made it.

Aggogant pricks they are but their day of reckoning is coming.

    Look up,

    whatreallyhappened(*)com

  • living as a test pilots during the cold war must be sucks lol

  • i hate ppl who comment on things thinking they no everything because they have mw2

  • finally a harrier vid without shitty mw2 comments

  • What is the music at 2:32?

Is it Godspeed? I can't tell.

  • @RusticNinja Sounds like something from 28 Days Later

  • Wars a serious thing. i know ive been involved in it. Sorry for shouting off but i see the comments on youtube by people who live youtube world and not experience. Sorry but Americans are the biggest culprits ! They sit ther analysing things that are created by the own propagander and think they soley have done everything and run the world ! Wildely known that 70% of Americans dont own a passport and dont know the world outside. Been to 40 countries and the states 4 times and know differently

  • Where are the zombies?

  • Those jets are LOUD when VTO/L

  • ENEMY HAWWIERS IN CUMMING! (British tf141 voice over) lol

  • mw2 harrier airstrike hahahaha who want to play/

  • whats the song at 2:24

  • @sharkboy1107 It was the friggin Zombie song in 28 days/weeks later!!!

  • BEST THING GOIN EVR I RECKEN THAT @SPOOKSTR IS RIGHT BY MILES

  • SONG: in the house, in a heartbeat

  • What you see in this video is not British. McDonnel Douglas took the basic Harrier and doubled the range and payload and turned it into something useful for the US the we bought it build under licence. I get so sick of all this earn't we Brits great stuff.

  • @lovegarbage .what a knob and typical yank ! The harrier ' First made developed and flown by hawker siddely british comp' was so succesful in the falklands war 1982 ! at which time it had been in operation over ten years in the RAF... That the Americans decided they wanted it. So together with British engineers the usaf did as you say improve it as it was starting to age and needed as it came into service in the 1960s.. Dont think the RAF use it anymore but it was our baby and always will be !

  • @gaming8 Steady on there. First of all I'm not a bedroom dweller and I am very well aware of the frustration in the UK forces about the general quality of US military personnel and their mode of operation which tends towards overkill and extreme violence - it's an attitude that is built into their system and it come from the top. My point is about the Harrier is that it is part of a wider myth of nationhood that is used by the politicians/media and multi-nationals as a convenience.

  • @lovegarbage You'll be claiming America built Concorde next because it suppiled cheese burgers on the inflight meal or built Rolls Royces because Goodyear stuck the tyres on ! Maybe you built the Titanic or Qe2 or other great Cunard liners because they sailed to NY ! Stop taking great British inventions and trying to make them yours, because your jealous of what weve given the world ! its not Hollywood although with Ronald Reagan as president and swartzernegger as gov your hard to take seriously

  • @lovegarbage And dont give me arnt we brits great stuff ! I worked alongside the Americans in gulf war 1 in 1991. I was a crewman on British army challenger tanks. The Americans training and proffessionalism is terrible. A inside joke between all the other forces in the world how bad they are !!! I had to watch has they killed 8 of my comrades within our battle group from 2 miles away with a A10 thunderbolt. They put a missile straight through the back door of two warriors who were there allies

  • @lovegarbage I doubt you have even served in the military never mind a war ! I worked with Americans in Berlin during the cold war and gulf war 91 !!! We would go and see them intergrate and take our tank to share info and familiarise as we was fighting together. Our AFV recognition and knowlege about there equipmemt was second to none as we was so clued up on everything Nato was using. theyd never even seen a challenger and even thought it was Russian. No wonder they blew us up !

  • @lovegarbage America- Great technology loads of money ! Terribley trained, unproffessional soldiers with bad attitudes Oh thick as pig shit aswell ! And kill there allies... As well going around thinking they can just blow up everybody in the world apart form the vietnamese because they know they'll they 'll get done in a ground fight ... Well apart from maybe dropping cowardly napalm on them ! And im talking first hand experience not from watching vids on youtube you bedroom dweller. End of !

  • Ah, the 20 Sqn garden. Many fuel snags fixed there.

  • lol the music omfg whats it called!!?? its from 28 days later!!!

fuck its so good it gives me the chills!

  • @hanseykemmerer Its called "In the house - in a heartbeat" nice music, and this is a great video, i remember watching it on tv, he also went up in a Eurofighter the jammy dodger!! And his other job is presenting the best show on tv.... top gear, not a shabby life i think ;)

  • I love Harriers. I hope they continue to be utilised as NO plane matches the ultimate versatility of this fighter. You can keep the Euro fighter; no craft gives such effective ground troop support and sea capabilities.

  • @shanesamsophie Let's hope the F35 lives-up to all our hopes!

  • beats all modern planes

read Commander 'Sharkey' Ward books over the Sea Harrier in the Falklands

  • I always see the X-13 at the Wright Patterson AFB Museam. I love the Harrier Jump Jet also.

  • CHESSPLAYER 100 the harrier is a ground attack aircraft u cant say that it doesnt compare to the typhoon as that is a multi role aircraft its like comparing john terry with fernando torres.

  • this video reeks with nationalism and snobbish "we're better than you attitude"

  • @manofthehour91 as snobby as it is, thank god it was english and not french xD

  • @Ieraux

oh yeah, then it would never be used

  • god why does the u.s. copy everything the call of duty does..:)

  • well the Harrier can always be used by local gov't. Just look what Arnold did in True Lies.....

  • 3 things you should know about Harrier jets,

    1. They are showplanes, But there also used in battle,

    2. No, MW2 did not make these up, My brother has been working on these before the game was even invented,

    3. They are not very good fighters, They are on the other hand good bombers,

NO THESE ARE NOT COD REFERENCES, my brothers in the marines, And he fixes these planes dailys

  • HA HA They have this Jet in GTA San Andreas

  • @MrMister1227 So they can have a Character go ahead and crash into a building? Yea, Dont we get helecopters that do that in that game?

  • @frizzykid100 i dont get wat ur getting at

  • @MrMister1227 Basically, I was telling everyone about them, what i know, and so people dont throw around COD refferences

  • its good against ground cause it hovers but it would be destroyed against a other plane

  • @Nacionales1000 The hovering to attack ground target would be suicide, considering the amount of heat the 4 nozzles give out when it's stationary in the air, any Surface-to-Air missile can easily track it down and destroy it.

  • check out the F-35- apparently there is still interest/value in having a "SHOW PLANE" in one's aresenal.

  • like any weapon, the siituation, the battlefield dictates usage. This aircraft is 1 of a kind and used as such. This is no dog fighter, it relies on stealth/surprise to accomplish the mission.

  • look at the date, mw2 didnt make it up

  • Comment removed

  • @jumpstartkira

wow you are dumb ass fuck.

  • ha why? your dumb as shit, got nothing else to do but make pointless comments

  • @jumpstartkira Lol except the part where the harrier floats around for like 10 m inutes an real harriers woudve run out of fuel doing that in like 5 minutes

  • @jumpstartkira haha nope it didnt. in mw2 the harrier fires it guns while hovering. Impossible in real life

  • @kojacked76 This can be done in a USAF Harrier p.s cods shit

  • @kurtf321 I dont know how thats possible. the guns cant shoot without air passing through them. yea i know its just a game

  • @jumpstartkira COD only makes bullshit games and doesn't even have vehicles online. Battlefield has F-35's

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAH FUCKING MORON

  • lol

  • you are fucking retarded

  • lmfaoo dumbass

  • LOL!

  • harrier is a great jet, but its more for air to ground combat because it can airstrike, and hover while minigunning mobs of soldiers...in the air it probably doesnt have as much skill as specifically designed jets, because it wasnt made for that sole purpose. Oh and just saying its definetely worth the 7 kills in mw2 :)

  • thjis is no so true,in falklands/malvinas the harrier won the air battle against the mirages...the british ilots were better trained and they tok off from the carrier, close to the islands,so the harrier have more fuel and time to do patrol and search enemies, the mirages only had 3 minutes over the island! I mean in a war there is a lot of variants!

  • HA i like how they were using 28 weeks later soundtrack

but still that is a freakin amazing jet

  • yea i agre with you it can not take on other fighterjets because it was desighned to give ground trops support . this jet does not only act like a jet but also acts as a helli this is why it is lightweight the only main downfall of this jet is its lack of fuel and the amount of it used in seconds

  • Bullshit. The only downfalls i can think off of the top of my head are the fact that its hovering abilities are limited to less than 10 minutes and its form of flight makes it very vunerable to heat seeking missiles. The reason it cannot hover for that long is because the engine starts to over heat and you can only fit so much coolant on the plane at once, nothing to do with fuel.

  • Yeah okay mate.

    Thats Bullshit!

  • No. Hes right

  • he obviously never met the jsf f 35

  • this jet is the best for show! it cant fight other jet planes, cos it carries so little ammunition, is an 8 tone airplane compared to 20 tons the other fighter jets weigh, is burns most of its fuel when taking off! not worth to rebuild this, otherwise the russians would have made a better one than this! lol

  • Russians developed a *supersonic* vtol jet fighter, but it was after the collapse of the Soviet Union so they didn't have funds to build it. It was called Yak-141.

  • thanks for the info

  • You obviously know nothing about the plane then. During the falklands the Harrier jet was sent into aerial combat every 23 minutes and it set one of the lowest ever recorded loses ever by a fighter. Most deaths actually occur from the piolet fucking up and that only happens because the americans don't train their army or airforce as good as they should do.

  • it stand no chance against any modern airplane today! sorry, i didnt go into technology on it but i am saying it has no chance against other planes as it is a show plane and it cannot fight likes of F 36's Suk-47's Typhoons etc, thats all i said! its amazing when it takes off like an Allien craft but not the best for combat! okay Mr Genius? have a good weekend! :))

  • Saying no chance is a bit too harsh don't you think? Yes there are certain planes that could destroy a harrier jet, but the fact is the jet that could destroy it may not have the same air-to-ground capabilities as the harrier, the harrier is a allround jet not just a fighter. It also has the best agility of any fighter which makes it still one of the best fighters on the planet, although not thee best. Basicly its the best at what it does do.

  • It's a ground attack aircraft, not an aerial combat aircraft.

  • What exactly do you base that on?

  • @chessplayer100

The Harrier kicked the shit out of all comers in the Falklands war

  • @SPOOKSTR ..........and took kick ass in the gulf war!

  • @SPOOKSTR bad thing is harriers get shoot down by missle giuded missles to easyly because the heat on the side of the jet is so damned strong lol

  • @bioniclemaster1 wtf is a missile guided missile?

  • @SPOOKSTR Ya but in a REAL war, Iraq and Afghanistan, they're falling like leaves in the Fall. Falklands was a joke,, good grief.

  • @beneehall

Different era numb nuts, that like comparing a Spitfire with the Harrier, now get back in the kitchen and bake me a cake.

  • @chessplayer100 i aggree with that but, it is okay for giving squads on the ground support and to take out masses of people...

  • @chessplayer100 i aggree with that but it is made for giving squads on the ground cover and support with it's MG that can be placed under the plane...

  • @chessplayer100

that doesn't matter, its not an air to air fighter, its a CAS aircraft, close air support so its in the same club as aircraft like the A-10 warthog and helo's like the apache and cobra.

the UK took it to the falklands in the 80's and it did very well against argentine aircraft, 24-0 in air to air combat but thats not whats its designed for, its for helping out troops on the ground and destroying ground targets so its excellent for combat and has been very successful.

  • @chessplayer100 honestly i think you know nothing you probaly get all of your info, mainly because you referenced the su 47. there has only been 1 su made

  • yep. that's it. we just don't train our pilots well at all.

  • i used to fly sea harriers for 7 years and at armament practise camps we used to regularly defeat in acm - mirages(quite difficult), mig-29's several times(german) and even the mighty usaf f-15's and f-16's would fall to us once the knife fight started. Dont underestimate Harrier, it has a habit of biting very hard those who dismiss it as second class.

  • Anyone know the song that start at 1:35 ? Message me if you do know, thank you!

  • there shit JSF F35 is way beter

  • thats what it is, an air to ground fighter, hence the name AV-8 in the US meaning ground attack aircraft

  • the harrier will soon be joined by its "brother", the F-35 JSF, the first VTOL plane that can break the sound barrier

  • Any idea what show this is from? Is it Top Gear? Also, where can I find the rest of the video?

  • its like james's big ideas or some thing
