i dont think it is. First of all the colors of the stickers are really close to each other making it very bad for recognition and i had to improvise stickers for some sides. the $8 one is also smaller and heavier and eventhough it is less prone to popping, it's really hard to do finger tricks on it.
i think pvc is better... hehehe... i tried the new type megaminx and i dont like the sound and the twist of it... i now average 3:05 using pvc megaminx from cube4you.. my pb now is 2:34
