Seriously. BBC, did you not take on board what the whole of Europe stated last year. Why are we so insistant that crap music=eurovision. We are known across the globe for our high standard of music. Up-to-date, innovative, and yet we have a 'Steps' hit from ten or so years ago.

This was a scratch group which did really well. With rehearsal they would have been able to represent the UK this year, but Pete Waterman had other ideas and his rather mediocre song was designed for a solo singer.

I also like very much this performance, but I think that the final winner, Josh Dubovie will rapresent very well Uk. @pwlitalianfan I'm sorry to have been proved correct in the choice of both singer and song. Pete Waterman didn't help his Eurovision entry by adding a team of manic looking backing vocalists whose distracting melodic line only served to undermine the credibility of Josh Dubovie's performance. A disaster was always awaiting a nice try by a nice guy.

@pwlitalianfan We have much better music than Stock Aitken Waterman and that is a fact not an opinion. We are the country that gave the world the Rolling Stones, The Smiths, The Who, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, Bowie etc etc not to mention brilliant Soul ,House and Garage. For a country of our size we punch above our weight musically but people like Waterman gave us nasty, manufactured souless "music". People like Waterman prove that shit always floats to the top.

@TheGoldStandardBoy Of the groups that you mention I like the Beatles. In the charts of all time Stock, Aitken & Waterman as music producers are just below, as selling charts, the Beatles. Various songs of Stock, Aitken & Waterman in the structure reminds me of the Beatles, for example, "I'm Doing Fine" by Jason Donovan seems like a '60s song. Bananarama wrote the song with Pete....they recorded it first too....Was one of the few non hits they had, but they made a killing financially outta The Steps version.

Bananarama still going strong, new album, new single out(vid on Youtube)April 10th and are on J Ross and Loose Women in April too...They just get better looking,and sound better than ever!!!!!!!
