I've never had the chance to watch puroresu on TV. But, I've watched some of Mitsuharu Misawa's matches from youtube and read about his career. He was without any doubt one of the best wrestlers of all time. This is a sad news not only for Japan but, also for the whole wrestling world.

Actually, Benoit died in July of 2007, Brian "Crush" Adams died in August of 2007. Steve Bradley (an indy wrestler who had a long time WWE developmental contract) died last year, Test died this year, so that's three deaths before Misawa.

Didn't follow Japanese wrestling regularly but I have watched quite of few of Misawa's old AJPW stuff. I became a fan of the puro style because of some of those matches. All the people who talk about how "fake" wrestling is, really undersell the risks that wrestlers take on even basic manuevers.
