This game is a joke! The signal lights at the railroad crossings are yellow instead of red. Every F7 I have tried in this game has a horn that sounds like a fog horn off from a ship instead of what is actually on them. Mars light do not work: Light comes on but never swings side to side. Some of the engines that do have bells that work like the SD-40′s, have a glitch in them. When you turn them on, you can’t turn them off. The bell continuely ring regardless.

you need to improve the sounds are too unrealistic...Take for example openbve, send license and the person who put the sounds on railworks2,which look like hammered, believe has ruined a simulator, the simulator and the sounds are essential !!!!

Just got my copy and am impressed. I love how they have done the steam engines. They have the feel just right and there is lots to juggle when you have the auto fireman turned off hehe. I also just got the Falmoth branch and the A1 Tornado and they are both very very good. I can see they love what they are doing and are really trying to get it right, and it shows.

Really need to know which is better, Railworks or Railworks 2?

When I got Rail Simulator I was really disappointed with it. Its didn't have all the options that MSTS had like putting what coaches and locos together or when just free roaming you couldn't chose where you wanted to start or when or what you wanted the weather to be like and id you wanted an automatic fireman etc. So which one RW or RW2 gives you those options or closest to those options?

@Bigfinlach Railworks 2 is an upgraded version for Railworks 1 so 1 and 2 are the same game but they upgraded graphics, new animated crossing gates where cars stop at the crossing. They came up with cool stuff. I have Railworks 2. I bought the first Railworks and they upgraded my game to 2 for free. So I recommend Railworks 2.

Free roam for RW2 you can start anywhere :). You can place your own locos anywhere in free roam. I would recommend getting RW2 from steam. They update the game for you.

I've been playing Railworks 2. It is very good and as the developers have stated it really helps beginners ease into the simulation and enjoy driving trains. The tutorial tracks are excellent as well and clearly explain the basics of signalling and switching.

I know this is a UK-focused simulation but I would love to see a simulation of the JR East railways in Japan with both standard electric cabs and Series 700 and N700 Shinkansen trains.

Regardless it is a great simulation!

I love how the front-end menu is now "Sort by Route" or "Sort by Train" that makes it SO much easier to find what you're looking for, epecially if you installed a new addon.
