As a teacher, this is what I fantasize about doing. Instead, our upper middle-class school policy is to take the phone away and return it at the end of the day. For multi-offenders, parents have to come retrieve it. However, it's often the parents who are the ones texting/calling the students; so tell me how much of a effective the policy is. If that happened where I live, the parents who payed for that phone (if the student didn't pay for it herself) would have been PISSED.
