THE REASON this works is because PRELOADER/BOOTMII will be loaded BEFORE THE SYSTEM MENU IS (before the bricked system menu the definition of SEMI BRICK means just that ITS ONLY A SYSTEM MENU BRICK or BANNER BRICK in channel creation terms but that said google me i have destroyed the wii system menu in hacks with my wii theme team lol

Hey man, the wii in your tutorial isn't 'semi-bricked'. Semi-brick is when you can't access the maintenance menu. All you get is an Opera screen. That's the problem with my wii. I wonder if doing this would fix my wii, or mess it up worse.

@fortysixyou SIMPLY UNINSTALL THE OFFENDING WAD FILE WOULD IN YOUR CASE however to do that requires some sort of brick recovery device like bootmii or preloader ;) hope that helps :P

wen i did the wad packer thingy i have 4.3u and i looked up the version and typed it in and changed the output to dec contents and chose my output folder and theres nothing in the folder but there is a new folder called tmp and it has .app in it but no wads

bricked my wii by trieing to uninstall cioscorp by uninstalling it's (wad bout 20 of em) files in the wad manager

maybe that removed the whole ios in the wii

now i only have blackscreen on startup

i have bootmii installed as ios and a nand backup and prii loader but i think i removed that while

uninstalling the cioscorp wads , now how can i unbrick my wii

i probaply need modchip and gc controller and need to make a universal unbrick disk

if yes then what kind of modchip do i need

i unbricked my wii easily lmao all i did was install a wrong system menu theme and i got the system files are corrupt all i had to do was uninstall the theme using mymenufy and put on a 4.2U theme and it worked it unbricked it easily lol

i did say a while ago that this was not a semi brick, by the way mine is still semi bricked. Only problem i have is that when i want to play online i have to open my router up i.e. have no password on there :-s ... when i bricked i dint know what system menu i was on but i figured it out by tracing back when i updated last and when i hacked my wii. now i know im on 3.2 and wont be upgrading at all in the future.

well if you read the post by willhamion and read the descrption, you need eiter bootmii running as a boot 2 or preloader... if you have those you can choose an option to boot directly into your homebrew channel. if u didnt hack and ur wii is doing this, then contact nintendo. when u said u dont even have homebrew are u meaning u cant access it currently or u never hacked ur wii.

just a thing...you need to make sure you have preloader....its the only way to get to the homebrew channel before the boot1 process. to get rid of it simply use the NUS downloader, install a WAD of the system version your on and preloader goes :P very simple stuff really
