not trying to dog you or anything i liked the cover by the way but the neck should be thinner than most acoustics if anything and as long as it is barring it across the fret it shouldn't really matter how hard its pushing unless it's so hard its changing the tuning
She has to capo because her voice is higher. She could raise the key, but end up stuck with having to use bar chords which lack the ringing notes necessary to do the Gin Blossoms stuff. Or tune the guitar higher, and risk breaking strings.
