Very nice. I'm just waiting on my 1.8 inch HDD to finish my 901 and I'll have Vista Ultimate x64 installed.
I just can't wait to get rid of freaking XP and it's ancient ass interface/architecture/networking. Out of my entire network, only my 901 with its XP is held back - there's just no security or functionality. And goddamn do I miss that personal folder/search feature/EVERYTHING when I'm away from my desktop...
I think it would be worth it to just get a 32GB SSD for vista and get 2gb ram amagine the speed for vista on it it would be as good as full desktop vista PC's
It's a useless comparison since it all depends on the actual Windows installation, how much bloat is loaded at boot differs wildly. My Eee PC 900 boots XP more than twice as fast than that demo 900.
clock speeds are not always related to performance (think Pentium 4's), they are 2 completely different chips, the 900mhz celeron M has simmilar preformance to the 1.6ghz atom used in the 901, with the benefits of the atom being that it uses less power and runs cooler. I would have to say that if that really is vista it must have been heavily modified to get it to run that fast.
Both should/are heavily modded, You use nLite and vLite to cut the fat down a TON on xp/vista. There are also many other tweaks and guides that can be done.

I still think that a nLite Xp Pro is still the best OS for the Eee PC's. It's lite and fast.
