I am a beginner for country guitar, i've played metal for fews year... may i know some country amp tuning ? many times i've tried never get the sounds of "country"....please if somebody can help me ....
HEY brilliant dick shut the fuck up he is ok.. having a good time sounds good so go play with it brilliant dick and leave this guy alone at least he is trying to help people you wanker...........
@ItsNotASlim What? Learn English please cause you don't make sense! And by the way blues should sound like blues and country should sound like country. If that is country for you then change ears... or brains.
Man i can tell i'm goin' learn a lot just watching you. Thanks, i want to get me an electric guitar. I'll get one of you dvd and one of these days i'll play it hot. Great
Robert Dean is probanly the best influence for the younger people. My grandson thinks he's the best and the little guy has mastered this whole video because he likes the way Robert talks!
just LISTEN to some country music and you'll see... it's has almost always a major feel and open string licks at faster speeds... here he's playing minor pentatonic in a traditional blues way...
nice work gonna practice some of youtechnique you,ve got some great stuff going on there..maybe incoporate some of what you do in my next vidio..if you care to check out mine what you tr hink??
well keith urban uses an acustic guitar lol ... and as for brad paisley like i said real country is done on an acustic guitar ... just cuz u wear a cowboy hat doesnt make u country
they both use acoustic and electric (depends which song). if they aren't country, then what kind of music are they? plz dont give me some dumb answer like "shit with a guitar" because both are established and talented guitarists.
im 14 and i play blues and im trying to learn some country, yeah i can shred and stuff cos metal influences me, but blues and country is where it all came from and thats the best
Well said. Plus incorporating guitar styles from all areas helps you become a better musician. I enjoy playing predominantly blues and classic rock, i take my style from Richie Sambora, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Hendrix etc but throw in some alternative influences from Dave Murray and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden as well as throw in some Nashville style country licks. All in all the more style you incorporate into your playing the more chance you get of making your own distinct guitaring style!
If you leave out the scales, sounds very Neil Youngy. Love the 'tude! Great salesmain! That was a very SHORT 9:11. I GOTTSTA to go check him out. Love child of eric clapton and david alan coe? :)
Terrific playing, why don`t you launch a DVD of you just playing blues/country whatever, I`m sure loads of people would buy it. If it was anything like this video, I would certainly buy a copy.
Hey vegeto909, thanks for turning me on to this guy. Actually I think this guy and Peter are both awesome in their own way. However, I'm looking and listening as I type this and I'll admit Robert is great and has a good approach to teaching. Thanks again!!!
HagenBraun, Obviously you are a very very in expirenced player if you could not hear the country that he was playing in the begginning of that video . I wasn't talking about the lesson itself , which although it was very bluesy , also contained some country elements.I guess it's all a matter of opinion , you have yours and it don't matter
WOW you are a great teacher , I used to play 30 yrs ago took all the lessons from idiots that didn't really teach me a damn thing ,(noone wants to hear some kid playing Buffulo girls can't you come out tonight, or Born Free)So I stopped playing , and after 30 years just recently bought myself a Fender Strat , and an Epihone SG , I really learned alot from this video , and it was fun too , thanks
Great stuff Robert, I've been playing guitar for a long time (a folkie) but want to kick it up so I can play lead. I'll be checking out your site. Peace brother.
I ordered a lesson off the road dogz web site and it was the best lesson i have ever purchused.Check out the road dogz web site best blues band ever!!!

just LISTEN to some country music and you'll see... it's has almost always a major feel and open string licks at faster speeds... here he's playing minor pentatonic in a traditional blues way...
todomusika 2 years ago
@todomusika ,
I've listened to country music all my life.
There is less bending and sliding but essentially it's the same,imo.
rw5791 2 years ago
we can say the say thing about rock and pop music too...
todomusika 2 years ago
@todomusika ,
pop music was the big rip off but when I listen to blues or country or rock music I can hear common threads between all three.

i sure hope your dvds don't turn out having the same integrity this video does.
for what it's worth, i liked what you did in the video.
