I was at the concert and she was much better than this recording shows. I was not wowed or anything but this recording doesn't really do it justice. There was a technical issue just prior to her performance and she had to sit around and chatter to fill the time and she did some piano improvisation that just floored everyone. I would have liked to hear a little more of that, as did everyone in attendance.

It's always difficult to do a cover of a classic song, so I give her props for trying, but the key she is singing in is too low for her.

I guess everyone commenting here is a fan of Vanessa's. As a fan of Elton's, I have to say very honestly that not only do the vocals totally SUCK, she took a great song, and made it sound less than mediocre.

Sorry, Vanessa fans. I know I'll get a lot of negative responses to this, If you want to hear great covers of this song, listen to George Michael or Oleta Adams.
