I love how the chorus repeats itself at the end, without vocals, fades out... So fucking great...
I love this album

@WeeklyAd3 why would you need to get gas if you didn't leave your house? I don't get it!

Yeah, that was a stupid comment in retrospect. I just read somewhere that he listened to BB tapes constantly in that 67-69 period.
You can hear the melody to 'Do it Again' in there.

This album is a Master Class on pop music.
It´s a visionary work, short songs, direct & intense message.
The Bible of Pop Music is here, in my humble opinion...

They have captured that funky harmony and almost a glee club feel to the song!

Beach Boys Doing Spoonful doing Motown. nice.

@JDrevolver66
whats spoonful?
@JDrevolver66 I get the Spoonful reference, but never the Motown...not with Brian...Uuuhnhuh...no.
wilswasit104 1 year ago
@wilswasit104 Well, rhythmically. The Lovin Spoonful imitated 'Baby love' with the straight 4/4 beat on daydream, and that kinda happens here. And you could argue that the rhythm in "you're so good to me" is motown influenced.

This was, as far as I know, the Beach Boys' only deliberate attempt at sounding like the Lovin' Spoonful. I think they pulled it off pretty well.
