That's because gas water heaters are supposed to be installed a number of inches above the floor level....because the pilot light is an ignition source and gasoline fumes or whatever..tend to hug the ground. Two questions, 1) Is that a new style water heater with a sealed pilot light so it doesn't need to be on a platform?...and 2) Is that flex line a legitimate gas line, installed to code?

Code? what code? Codes in Wyoming tend to be very sparse and cover only the most basic of things since a lot people out there view it as govt. intrusion. However, the person who installed it looked like they did a professional job. I'm no longer in Wyoming and that house was foreclosed on and the new owners took to renovating it so that water heater is probably no more.

Having lived in cheyenne for three years I can say living there is an acquired taste, but it was an all around good experience. The only two things I didn't like were the altitude and frontier days since I had to be there all day, everyday out in the sun and heat dressed up in western wear. Too much exposure for me.
If the pilot is burning, then the gas is NOT shut off. Either that gas heater is operating properly or the gas should be shut off. Gas ain't like electric heat, gas can be dangerous. I prefer gas heat, but you gotta keep it in good working condition.
Can you get good reefer there? Is the place crawling with bullies? How come you never hear of any good blues singers from Wyoming? Can you gt Yoo-Hoo there? Are there any good Jewish delis nearby?

i have family in iowa, wisconsin, and minnesota. the drive through nebraska sucks the worst. best thing about cheyenne is that its closer to denver, otherwise i think that casper is where it's at.

I was told first friday of the month at noon. But they don't seem to test during winter. I live about 1 mile and half from FE warren AFB and they have a system of wheelen 2906's that they sound off every friday at noon. I have to figure out a way to get video of those. They don't just let anyone on base.
