  • can you imagine how many pages the constitution would be if written today? I'd guess over 100,000 and every page would contradict itself. It's truly amazing how our Forefathers seem to have got it right the first time, now if only it was actually followed!!!!

  • Gee education spending doubled in 30 years, I wonder what inflation has done! Down with faux news.

  • America has been at war with countries for 60 year and will be at war for the next 60 years they will never put dust covers on a trillion dollars worthof weapons of mass destruction the military complex will never stop and its not a defence budget increase they need its an offence budget.

  • @edtheball69 Agreed, I see no point in voting for someone which doesn't have the power to do what is good for the poeple. I mean in voting altogether.

  • I feel kinda bad for Stossel. He's sympathetic with Ron Paul's views, and he keeps trying to pitch Ron these softballs hoping that he'll knock 'em out of the park, but Paul really doesn't. Paul isn't incredibly articulate most of the time; this is both his strength (it makes him appear more honest) and his weakness.

  • Ron Paul for President he is our HOPE for FREEDOM

  • @bane349- LOL, you mean the same Donald Trump that said Ron Paul can never be elected President?

  • @JBeatty17 Yeah, I need to remove that post after he said that. Thanks for reminding me. Fuck trump!

  • To understand the general welfare clause one need look no further than the writings of our founders to see that it was applicable to Article I Section VIII.....

  • Obama is GREAT !

  • So how is Rand Paul such a hack if his father is so smart?

  • The Revolution will be televised!

So on "Promote the general welfare" - the clause that the Federal government uses to justify all of their various involvements...I would argue that since we are the most unhealthy developed nation in the world that they should think of another way "promoting." Medicare obviously doesn't work to make anyone healthier except the Medical Industrial complex. Perhaps they should "promote" health by returning the burden of health to the individual.

  • @seanthemedicjudoman If you were to adjust the statistics of Life Expectancy to account for instant death (murder, car accidents &c.) then the LE in the U.S. is the highest in the world. Even then, health care is only a factor in life expectancy (various others include environmental reasons, eating habits, lifestyle, chronic diseases &c.). The definition of welfare known to the Founders was not the definition that Otto von Bismarck would first introduce over one hundred years later, but I agree.

  • What about the occupation of the United States? Don't forget that occupation .

  • Ron Paul talks sense

  • Ron Paul for president!

  • we are effffed! Thanks obam!

  • @etzel33 The LP died

  • @chlevell lol, true

  • @etzel33 Ron Paul is a libertarian as a matter of principle, but a Republican as a matter of expediency. He's often said that the party has left it's old ways.

  • @Goodatconnect4

I'm not so sure he's correct on that though. The party has always been pro-government regardless of what a few candidates said here and there (or even regardless of what they all say. It's another matter when they're actually in power)

  • @stealthswimmer When in power, Republicans: voted for Amendments XIII, XIV, and XV- the "Radical" Republicans in fact; Republicans opposed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff; Conservative Republicans, for the most part, opposed the New Deal; I'd say that the party started to change with Hoover.

  • @Goodatconnect4

Ron knows the difference between a republic and a democracy.

  • @Goodatconnect4

Ron knows the difference between a republic and a democracy.

  • @chlevell Ideas are bulletproof.

  • I'm amazed. Stossel and Ron Paul, both apparently icons of the Libertarians, but not actually in the LP. Who died and made Ron Paul our leader?

  • @etzel33

Ron Paul was a libertarian before you were born, son!

  • @RevolutionNewsDotUS Hardly. I joined the LP in 1979. He's a johnny come lately.

  • @RevolutionNewsDotUS ... and a Republican, sir!

  • @etzel33 what are some names you approve of higher than ron paul?

  • @tmac9938 that's a good question, and thanks for asking. I don't have an answer for you.
