whats with the "MMA is best martial art " comments?? MMA is by definition MIXED martial arts. Not just one discipline, to say that one discipline is best shows that you probably only know one. This vid is perfectly on target. Keep learning and you'll be better able to react to whatever comes at you.
what's the best religion? The best soccer team? The best political party? The best martial art?
...Many of us have been discussing in order to convince others that our things are supreme. That's true. Istead, we can just follow what is better for ourselves, while respecting and learning with others' ways.
I really liked this video.
This kind of focus and respect is good for all martial arts, sports, and human activities. lol
..... i want to know more knowledge from the fighting style what i learn and get enlightened through that particular style i just want to have more knowledge and experience about fighting not about different fighting styles around the world. also by getting more knowledge about fighting and not the different fighting styles i feel i might have perfected the techniques of the particular martial art which iam learning. thats what even ryu in 'street fighter' did and i as monk must follow this path
actually you have a point but for me i feel this burning desire of exploring the zen martial arts like shaolin martial arts zen karate. i want to master my martial arts in such a way that only with one martial art or 2 i want to prove its true power against different martial arts around the world in order to perfect my techniques in the martial arts what i learn i just want to have experience on different martial arts masters and only get some idea about the way they fight but........
I wonder how many people leaving comments on here about MMA have ever even done MMA. I have been training and competing in MMA, and what use to be NHB, since 1998; and this guy talks nothing but truth. And sticking to just my MMA training got me into some trouble a few times when I was younger and took the fight to the ground where I was stronger; I gave my back to the other guy's friends. Just sayin". Go ahead and feel free to insult me or disagree, it is your right to be ignorant.
@AndrosStamou Now for everyones information, Im not the guy in these vids, He has his own channel ChosunNinja. His name is Greg Parks. I'm posting his vids because he was being trademark violation harrassed, when acusasions were unfounded, and I wanted his teachings to always be available to people. My personal Favorite Martial art is Pekiti Tersia Kali. A 100lb girl trained to use a knife is much more dangerous that a 300lb man trained in MMA
@JemarqueMarquis If I carried a shank everywhere like I was in prison or something, I might agree with you. Don't focus on an art that requires weapons. Your body needs to be a weapon; you won't always have a switchblade available.
@AndrosStamou To be completly honest I would be more afraid of a Sumo Wrestler in real life that a MMA expert. They weigh 400lb(if they are light weight) and they run just as fast as the fastest sprinter. Thats alot of momentum comin at you, I'm not sure if a gun will save you. Be safe get a head shot.
@JemarqueMarquis I agree with you about the sumo wrester actually, think saying they can run as fast as the fastest sprinter is a bit to far, but they've got a lot of natural body armour and I can only think of less than 10 throws that might work.
@JemarqueMarquis If you can't outrun a Sumo wrestler, you have serious problems. Furthermore, if you really believe those men are fleet-footed for any considerable distance, you are portentously mistaken: they could not lift weights enough to make themselves track stars.
@JemarqueMarquis If you watch ufc 1, a sumo wrestler had his teeth kicked out by a dutch kickboxer. That was back in 1993, MMA has evolved significantly since that event and BJJ is only one component of an MMA fighters skillset. Perhaps you should do more research.
@mmacrazies89 MMA is the best martial arts in a ring with rules and a referee. Outside the ring in real life it is the worst. Going to the floor will only get you stabbed and head stomped by your opponents buddy.
@JemarqueMarquis i just want to add my 2 cents. people dont put two together that mma is an arena for all arts to be displayed, and the only reason that the more common arts reign is because the practioners themselves have proven certain aspects of combat to be very effective and reliable, proven through generations of opponents. if everyone was landing pressure point knockouts then more people would train it for mma. but taking your fist across skulls like a barbarian is easier to implement.
thank you very much for the interview, it shows me that you ve got a quite complete and round education in martial arts. I agree with what you say. there always be one martial art which fits you the most but that doesnt mean you are a complete martial artist. i am 27 years old and study hapkido since 10 years by a korean grandmaster and it is killer. but i feel like i want to jump also into Wing chun kung fu in order to improve more my skills in quick hands face to face punch fighting.....
Very intellectual answer thank you so much. Im alway racking my brain with question after question Im not satisfied with what I have been taught which is a problem and I never choose analysis paralysis. Camaraderie is very important for me.If I feel like there is ego and training with someone who don't protect me as a training partner I'm out!

@trellastabouna I love the standing joint locks Hapkido has, much more advantagous in real life situations that Brazilian Jujitsu ground locks
