I always liked Smackdown as the brand that helped create stars, without there being a Randy Orton or a John Cena it meant at least two wrestlers would of got something good out of it. It's a shame they didn't use this oppurtunity to elevate another wrestler. I would of liked to have seen CM Punk get drafted to Smackdown instead and fued with Christian, It would of given him new direction and would of settled the issues he has with signing a new contract.
I have thought about this for a week now and I am not as pissed as others. I am mad that the match happen so quick just because Raw had a World Title Match, but Orton is just a way better wrestler than Christian case and point.
It's the same with these voting PPV's/shows. Look at the "Viewers' Choice" Raw last year. lol, they gave us choices like "Single, Arm Wrestling, Cage", obviously people are going to choose cage match although I'd prefer to see TLC or something.

I don't get how a wrestling fan doesn't watch SD but watches RAW. SD has been the better show for years. RAW is just there for the casual fans that are just impressed by the big names. SD has the better matches and the better overall structure.

I think viewership would've jumped with Christian as champ instead of contending for it because it would've been something new and not just another 8X champ (i.e. Cena and Orton). BTW, I think Orton's at the point where he can carry a show without ALWAYS having the title. I also think WWE is going to wear away the significance of the title with these frequent title changes (Christian, Ziggler, etc.)
@lbm1985 The Ziggler/Christian changes have devalued the WHC badly. Hell, both main-event titles are nothing like they were. I miss the days where after a long heel title reign, a face would prevail at a PPV and everyone would go ape-shit. I don't feel any significance for the titles anymore.
The live reaction of the crowd was A LOT better than I expected it to be. I wasn't too thrilled to see Christian lose so early like everyone else. However the crowd seemed to be ok with it. I think bigger things could come out of this judging by how it was played off. I think it may have been blown out of proportion a bit. Sure Christian SHOULD HAVE been champion longer, but it was not nearly as bad as I expected. I hope to see a heel Christian out of all of this, and hope he regains the title.
I actually did watch smackdown tonight for the first time in I dont know how long....and the orton christian match was actually pretty good, and even tho I knew the outcome something inside me thought that christian WAS actually gonna get the win, but of course he didnt :( But who knows....we might actually get an epic storyline between the 2 and see christian win the whc back!! Okay, I watched it. Granted, yes Christian lost the belt. But the big event was at the end of the match, when Christian walked out of the ring. As he walked up the ramp, until the show faded out, only one thing entered my mind. Yes the whole walk up the ramp said it in volumes. You saw it, I saw it. The whole walk up the ramp meant, this is the beginning of a brand new storyline for Christian. Its not the fact that he lost the belt, they are creating a new storyline. And there yuh go!

I watched Smackdown earlier and you have to say, despite the outcome the match Orton and Christian had was actually really good. Im hoping that my predictions are right and that they are going to make Christian or Orton the new major heel of the show and have them go head to head. Spinner bro i know you already know this but a majority of wwe fans are all children under the age of 10. You and i are considared ancient old history i mean we grew up during the time out of hulk hogan the warrior. You look at wwe today and go to a raw or smackdown show live all you see are little kids and their parents its so depressing. Teenagers and young adults that i talk to dont even watch wrestling because they say its too kiddy and they are right damn you tv pg lol.

I like pro wrestling but I am starting to get scared of the direction it is going in. I do like John Cena as a wrestler but I know that the WWE universe that they talk about is really a bunch of kids who have there years backwards. John Cena is so 2005-2007 and that's it. I think viewership would've jumped with Christian as champ instead of contending for it because it would've been something new and not just another 8X champ (i.e. Cena and Orton). BTW, I think Orton's at the point where he can carry a show without ALWAYS having the title. I also think WWE is going to wear away the significance of the title with these frequent title changes (Christian, Ziggler, etc.)

@lbm1985 The Ziggler/Christian changes have devalued the WHC badly. Hell, both main-event titles are nothing like they were. I miss the days where after a long heel title reign, a face would prevail at a PPV and everyone would go ape-shit. I don't feel any significance for the titles anymore.

The live reaction of the crowd was A LOT better than I expected it to be. I wasn't too thrilled to see Christian lose so early like everyone else. However the crowd seemed to be ok with it. I think bigger things could come out of this judging by how it was played off. I think it may have been blown out of proportion a bit. Sure Christian SHOULD HAVE been champion longer, but it was not nearly as bad as I expected. I hope to see a heel Christian out of all of this, and hope he regains the title.

I actually did watch smackdown tonight for the first time in I dont know how long....and the orton christian match was actually pretty good, and even tho I knew the outcome something inside me thought that christian WAS actually gonna get the win, but of course he didnt :( But who knows....we might actually get an epic storyline between the 2 and see christian win the whc back!! Fingers crossed.I will be tuning in to smackdown nxt week tho to see what transpires....great vid btw....

towards the end i was thinkning the same...I hadn't watched SmackDown! for 2 weeks...after I knew Christian was the new WHC I was ready to tune in every friday to watch SmackDown! because Christian was the champion! Now that Orton's there it's back to watching the last 20 minutes and looking up the results that at times disappoint me...

While Christian may not be the guy who I think would be best for business to be a new champion (Kofi I think would benefit the company greater), he's easily the one who deserves it the most after all these Randy.

I have to agree with you on that spinner! I hardly ever watch smackdown but I was gonna start watching it every week when Christian won just like other people would of, I think Christian has 1 of the biggest fan bases in the WWE and is 1 of the most popular superstars but somehow no one in WWE has faith in him, they could of possibly got a lot more viewers and ratings and maybe PPV buys but they threw it all away

@DML960 The big picture is that Christian will probably invoke his rematch clause on an episode of Smackdown, lose and then be relegated to a sometime multi-man match for the title, if at all. However, there's absolutely no reason to spit on Christian by giving him a 2 day title reign. Even if there is a bigger picture, Vince and Orton could have at least kept him (Orton) off the title for at least a month.

I'm just pissed off that they're pushing Henry as a top heel. This is classic WWE. Oh we've run out of fresh main eventers, quick check the midcard! Who is the longest tenured star we've got who will take the least effort and patience to push.

Okay, I watched it. Granted, yes Christian lost the belt. But the big event was at the end of the match, when Christian walked out of the ring. As he walked up the ramp, until the show faded out, only one thing entered my mind. Yes the whole walk up the ramp said it in volumes. You saw it, I saw it. The whole walk up the ramp meant, this is the beginning of a brand new storyline for Christian. Its not the fact that he lost the belt, they are creating a new storyline. And there yuh go!

@t87mobile I doubt it, WWE have said they don't see Christian as a Top Guy, and the reason for giving him the title was about him and Edge celebrating in the Ring on PPV. One last E&C moment + WWE exploiting Edge's retirement. So I doubt Christian will ever be champ again.

I watched Smackdown earlier and you have to say, despite the outcome the match Orton and Christian had was actually really good. Im hoping that my predictions are right and that they are going to make Christian or Orton the new major heel of the show and have them go head to head. Because seriously, who on Smackdown is Orton going to face? Sheamus? Mark Henry? Cody Rhodes maybe but Smackdown lacks heels and doesnt have any major heels.But Christian and Orton are both capable becoming that.
