its definitely more than a human invention, just because we can't see it. if we can actually measure that is passing at different rates depending on the motion of two different people measuring it, or depending on the strength of the gravitational field two different clocks are in, that suggests to me that it's definitely a "real" thing in some sense.

He's simply wrong. What IS a human concept is the idea of "hour" and "Day"

We keep track of time , but to say time is a human concept is just pissing on the beauty of the universe.

We know it's there, we know its not a rigid construct, we know its different in different parts of space etc. He was addressing the populations stupidity and ignorance in dealing with and understanding it.

Your mr.einstein was wrong too, he was stubborn and reluctant to agree that there was "something" faster than light, when neils bohr, said there was. Time as a science can only be viewed through the lens of quantum mechanics, educate yourself, then look forward to the debate. I'm not trying to be offensive, I'm just stating.

and only thing mr einstein was reluctant to agree ( and acctualy never agreed with ) was the conclussion that the universe is not static (thats what his own theory was pointing at. we know that time is just another dimension. Granted perhaps we're missing a few pieces , But we're missing pieces from evry other theory we got , if we apply your logic , science hasent achieve anything....

Not such a brilliant commentary from Carlin.

Time is simply a measure of the earths roation and the year is measured by the earth revolving around the sun. Simple concept..and a month is generally 4 weeks which is what it takes the moon to revolve around earth.

As far as years not being the same, those go in terms of religion.

George became quite a cynic in his latter years. Probably a reason why he died young. Guy just wasn't worthy of living.

So every four years they add one day to make up for that time lost in error. And you really did not understand what Carlin was REALLY trying to say here.
