So all you good Brits, why don't you get to work and make a great little BRITISH video to educate young people (I just realized that my new class this term in a Canadian college don't know what the Industrial Revolution IS!) and stop complaining about efforts from Italy.
A moneyless, classless, stateless communities of humanity sharing the Earth in cooperation harmony and wisdom for our common needs and well being. The market system of artificial scarcity and the wage slavery of the working class is the historic process of private property relationship of alienation, exploitation and suffering of our common humanity. A majority democratic movement of no leaders no followers to transcend the CLASS RULE.
the industrial revolution was thanks to dutch, german and american jewish entepreneurs and engineers contrary to the myth that the english were behind it. If it wasn't for americans the english would be living like in a post communist soviet republic. Nowadays there is not industry in the UK and most of the engineers and medicine doctors are europeans, asians or americans.
@tookyification this video is about THE BRITISH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION so why do we have commentary from a non British person, who we can just about understand !!
@vaxrhod As an American I can say that their English is just fine! I can understand what they are saying very well. Bye the way, you should know that the word "English" must always begin with a capital "E" and not a lower case "e"!
I've just started a 'song a week' project all about the victorian east end of london. i upload a video and song every week for a year. if you're interested check it out..

Just so everyone here knows, the early 19th century is in the 1800's. The industrial revolution took place in the early 20th Century 1900's. We are now in the 21st century 2009. Easy mistake, but a big one none the less.
The industrial revolution took place between c.1750 - 1914. The three main waves of this were 1780-1820 (Britain and Belgium); 1840 - 1870 (France, America and German states) and finally, 1890-1914 (Italy, Japan, Sweden and Russia to name a few.) [Clive Trebilcock, in "The Oxford History of Modern Europe", pp. 46 - 50.] So the industrial revolution took place over the Eighteenth, Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries. :P
England being the birth place and at the technological forefront.
We basically set the foundations for the modern world, but that seems to be forgotten through the hate & jealousy towards Britain, and the overshadowing of japan & America in today's technological society.
no it didint most european nations were industrialised by 1900, the railways were built, population growth had been accelerating for about 100 years and many nations had claimed foreing lands for their empires. By 1900 it was not just well underway but well established (at least in europe)
Actually, the industrial revolution started in the middle of the 18th century (in the mid-1700s). The "revolution" lasted until just before WW1, and that's when heavy industry became the way of the world. That's what we've been exposed to up until today.
The Invention of the Steam Motor and its adoption into creating vastly HUGE numbers of products and food harvesting, which were originally limited, were now in surplus. That caused the population boom, and led to an even higher Demand increase. The "Revolution" itself happened in only a few decades, changing the face of the Modern world.
Considering that before this, it took us 10,000 years to go from a stone axe to a steel one, this was a sudden event.
