  • he was way too slow to had such a big accident only 80 km/h

  • All he can blame is himself not keeping enough distance between his vehicle and the truck while overtaking. As we saw the truck was on the brakes. Idiot driver. TAC is counting on sheeple Aussies...go on believe their bullshit.

  • It looks like he purposley ht the truck, but yes speeding does cause harm and you just shouldn't go over the limit.

  • lol this wouldnt happen in real life, that truck would not have hit his sedan hard enough for it to over steer out of control on a front wheel drive car, only on TAC, BRAINWASH HARD!!

  • See now, if in OZ the woman was on the side of the car where she was supposed to be she would still be alive. I think Australia is to blame for this one

  • @Sonichusnumber1fan that comment made no sense.

  • @irishgodfatherchris I live in the USSA/ Amerikkka and the passenger is on the other side of the car.

  • @Sonichusnumber1fan I get that but what does that have to do with this ad and the fact that here we drive on the other side of the road

  • @irishgodfatherchris Then she would have been sitting on the other side of the car, not the one that got pwned by the pole.

  • "I swear to god, bitch. If you keep talking to me while I'm going 80 miles per hour I am going to spin my car towards a pole, kill you, then do my impression of a baby to everyone who comes to help."

  • see the problem is he french fried when he should have pizza-ed

  • I felt really bad for him when he was crying and yelling "Honey" and trying to wake her up :'(

  • australia uses kilometers, not miles

  • Him hitting the truck had Nothing to do with the speed... the australian government is brainwashing people...

  • Don can blame anything but the speed. He was inattentive, he was focusing more on the conversation and gauges than the road, and the main reason of the crash, FOLLOWING TOO DAM CLOSE! (0:39) In top of that, the truck driver brake very sudden for no apparent reason. (or maybe he just got scared how close Don was to his ass) 0:40

Remember! The faster you drive, the farther you have to look and the bigger the following distance.

  • Don is about to kill his wife he can't blame her he can't blame the truck the only thing he can blame is the hyundai

  • @liverpool1987nd its still there mate. Ltsa gonna get caught

  • He could also blame the fact that he's too f*cking close to the vehicle in front of him!!!

Lack of SAFETY DISTANCE kills too, you know.....

  • Is it just me, or did it look like he did this on purpose.

  • @BCJEntertainment247 LOOLOLOL

  • if there where side curtain airbags she could of lived

  • Ehh....Creepy....

  • why was he tailgating the truck?

  • Looks circa 1999

  • "Don is about to kill his wife..."

Check out the plotting look on Don's face as that's said...

  • @Chanto327 Jeez, I never noticed that until you mentioned it.....

  • I ride a motorbike. And I live where these ads are filmed (Victoria). All car drivers are wankers! I laugh every time I see one spud into a sign or a tree or another car. Die car drivers die! pity about the hot chick though

  • These ads are brutal!

  • u guys are fuckin dumb ....what part of IF HE WASNT SPEEDING THEN IT WOULDNT HAVE MADE ALL HIS OTHER ERRORS A DEATH SENTENCE FOR HIS WIFE! regardless of what other mistakes were made that is the point their tryig to make, if u mak a simple stupid decision whle speeding the results can b disasterous! ignorant people who just want to criticize this are fucked, i know i watched it and it had animpact, too bad ur too heartless to c wut their trying to do here!

  • I loved the video description.

  • I think this is less a case of speed and more a case of SOMEBODY not paying attention when they gave that idiot a license...

  • the speed didnt kill his wife, a lack of driver education and awerness killed her. If he knew how fast he was going in relation to the truck he should have changed lanes long before he got to the truck.

I suggest you watch Mark Skaife's report on speed

  • @blakenator123 ...which brought on a higher velocity which led to misjudging the truck's distance which caused the accident. A slippery slope, if you will. So yeah, if you want to get technical, all of the above killed her.

  • so does this mean i have to go the exact speed? so this means i cant go one mile or one kilometer over

  • And if he had learned to drive before?

In this case, was not the speed that killed his wife, it was the inexperience of the driver! (if it were a real scene)

The inexperience is a cause of accidents, higher than the speeding.

speeding coupled with inexperience, is a weapon!

    guys learn how to drive!

Ah... i almost forgot, automatic gearbox, it's for girls!

Learn to drive with manual gearbox and take a defensive driving course!

  • That wasn't speed, that was getting to close to another vehicle.

  • He can't blame the truck.

    He can't blame his speed

The only thing he can blame is the Hyundai.

  • Ken Lay you speeder you endangered my life with your reckless driving , you're a criminal, how could you?.

  • she got knocked the FUCK out

  • Permanently.

  • pole, 1. woman 0. PWNED lmao

  • Wow guys, apparently speed kills. I'm going to write to local politicians to reduce all speed limits to 0kph. Should be really safe then guys, amirite?

  • millions spent on driver training every year, more stringent requirements to a license.

then most of this would be avoided.

then again can we really save everyone? There are alot of tools who just never learn.

  • LOL

  • Roads are only a part of the issue. All the shrubs in the world aren't going to save you if what you're hitting is another car. Take responsibility for your own behaviour and stop trying to blame "The Man". If you want to keep your money in your own wallet and out of the state coffers, it's pretty simple.

  • Funny how they blame speeding for this crash, as per all the ads, not the fact that what is actually shown is someone who simply was pathetic behind the wheel.

He failed to negotiate a lane change, clipping a truck... with those skills they migh aswell have shown him doing the speed limit and driving off the side of a cliff.

  • That's hardly the point of the ad, but the truth is there ARE a lot of people who are 'pathetic' behind the wheel. It's just telling people not to speed, full stop.

  • Exactly. I see such drivers constantly switching back and forth between lanes to overtake, seemingly viewing overtaking itself as justification for exceeding the speed limit. So they're almost perpetually speeding due to this game of Frogger they're playing in their head, and may as well be begging for a collision with any surrounding vehicle who, already travelling slower than them, dares to go so far as applying the brake.

  • you are right...but speed kills anyway

  • Switching between lanes is not a crime. Exceeding the speed limit is.This idea of the magic number, which when exceeded, parabolically increases the pace at which you approach death, is ridiculous. The government does not spend our money on training people, instead prepares these propaganda ads so that the sheep will easily fall inline with the massive revenue raised by fining people for "speeding".110 on a highway, dual carriage, is a walk in the park. Especially in most average cars these days

  • Europe = 130, but people readily do 150 etc, and in my 3000km's across Portugal / Spain, in peak holiday season, I saw not one crash, not one HWP, and everyone was doing atleast 130, most sitting on between 150-200

  • If you tried that here, people would start dying, mostly because majority are pathetic behind the wheel and this is simply not acceptable.112 and you are a criminal, not to mention building new dual carriage highways / motorways, yet setting the limit at 100km/h! Its all about revenue. I'll believe otherwise, when they get serious about training drivers.

  • That statistic just hows how extremely unlikely one is to be involved in a car accident to begin with.

    Push the limit!

  • Faster you go, the longer it takes the stop, the harder the hit when you DO stop, and the quicker your reactions have to be.

    This is all basic physics.

  • @wuzzlevideos yea just like when u apply a force to an object it will give the equal amount back to u.. so bascially, when ur gonna go fast in a car and hit something thts hard like a wall. or something else like a car.. then whoops. big mistake there. and its gonna impact u a lot. and the person u hit. :/

  • @wuzzlevideos

There is a fundamental problem with that argument. You are assuming that there is going to be a collision.... There shouldn't be collisions in the first place. It's like we have given up trying to create alert drivers and are saying "these stupid people are going to hit each other so lets slow them down to a snails pace so that when they do hit each other its just a dent in the car" Unless of course its a motorcyclist which means he looses a leg, but that's okay they are minority

  • @blakenator123 Oh, I'm not for one minute suggesting that we should let people do what they want and we have to look out for people's stupidity. Simply saying that if everybody played their part, either by slowing down, or by paying attention, or by not running out into the road like a fucking moron, then we'd all be able to live happily. But some people wish to just absolve themselves of all blame, and I think that's very sad. We ALL have a part to play.

  • @blakenator123 Do you really think people get into accidents on purpose? It doesn't matter if you are the best driver in the world, your chances of being in an accident will increase as your speed increases.

  • @razookah

yeah sure you could say that if you want. I could also so your chances of being in an accident or more likely CAUSING an accident if you 1)Do not allow sufficient space between you and the car in front of you 2) Do not pay attention to the road 3)Text or use mobile whilst driving 4) Drive a car that does not have good safe working brakes 5) Being a selfish moron that only thinks about him or herself 6) Do not follow simply road rules like stop signs, indicating etc 7)Drink and drive

  • @blakenator123

Car is harder to steer at higher speeds. If (take this video as illustration) you're coming up behind a truck, high-speed will give you less time to change lanes. When it's a matter of less than a second, the likelihood of misjudging, etc. over such a short distance can be significantly affected. Keeping to the speed limit won't completely remove accidents, but it would surely decrease the frequency, and severity, of those that do occur.

  • @wuzzlevideos Chris challenges Physics. Physics Falcon Punches Chris.

  • @wuzzlevideos have you deleted some videos off your channel i remember you having more videos?

  • @liverpool1987nd Hey man, I may have deleted or moved around some of my personal videos, but no adverts have been deleted as far as I know. What do you think is missing?

  • @wuzzlevideos i think it was a pif from austraila which is in 5 parts about a man comin home from the pub drunk always throwing his keys into a bowl until the very last one where he accidently killed his mate and his wife says dont worry they will catch the bastard of course not knowing it was her husband iam pretty sure i seen that on your channel because you provide the best pif's

  • @ChrisBennett18 you clearly havent watched the video, 0:58 dummy

  • cars are designed to get us from A-B faster then walking. however just cus its faster dosn't mean its safer. thats why we have road rules, traffic signs, and cops.disobey just one rule from the 3. and thats what will happen.

  • If he had a real car and not a Hyundai he wudnt have bounced straight of a small truck

  • lol i agree hyundia suck

  • Speed didn't kill her. Lack of driving ability, poor judgement, and no focus on the road ahead did.

  • So... Needless to say, it was simply his non-drivng ass that killed her.

  • Did you happen to see which side of the car the steering wheel was placed?

  • ...Yes?

  • What I meant by "non-driving", I was referring to his driving skills.

  • Speeding reduces the amount of time you have to react.

All speeding ads feature drivers who are distracted just before they crash/hit someone. But in real life you don't have to be distracted to be involved in a crash. On the same note you don't have to be speeding to be involved in a crash but speeding is the most common cause worldwide.

  • I really hate watching TAC ads because of the graphic scenes, but it is good lesson for me and everyone about driving safely on the roads.

  • Maybe I just missed it but why did the lorry driver break when there was nothing in front of him?

  • tbh, these ads are really, really good. it really makes you think about shit when you drive.

  • eh we do have those classic gory drivers ed videos in usa such as red asphalt and lost highway with robert loggia and signal 30.

  • Wow that annoying wife should be being dragged along the road by that car..

  • Damn, these commercials are some seriously deep shit. Aussies take speeding and DUIs awfully serious. We don't seem to take them seriously enough, here in the US.

I'd bet if we saw just how bad the consequences of speeding and drunk/reckless driving really are with our ads, and not just some simple, PG-rated warning message, people might just wise up a little in this country, and drive a little smarter. Thank you, retarded censorship for keeping the reality hidden, for fear of scaring people...

  • Absolutely. The TAC, which governs the state of Victoria, is famous for being the first in the world to heavily use shock in their ads. I'm from Victoria and I grew up watching ads like this.

  • Jesus Christ, John. Watch your speed you asshole.

  • The driver didn't know how close his car was to the truck, hitting other vehicles has nothing to do with speeding

  • ...you do realise these are mock up crashes, right?

  • He was trying to OVERTAKE the truck, they were both in the slow lane.

  • i know he was trying to overtake the truck, but don't you think the process took a little too long? I mean surely when you overtake someone you would move into the appropriate lane immediately as opposed to lazily drifting into it as seen in this example?

My point is that the reason he crashed was because he merged too slowly and has nothing to do with his actual speed

  • Didn't you see ? The sign says 60km/h at the beginning of the clip, but the guy is driving 75km. The wife maybe to be blame for distracting her husband.

  • OH NO! NATARSHA BELLING IS DEAD!

  • Nothing to do with speed. Everything to do with a dick head driving a shit heap Hyundai and not having the skills to manoeuvre around other vehicles safely.

  • Why is it that when there is a road accident, it is always the driver whose to blame? Passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists even garage attendants can just as much knuckleheads as some careless drivers.

  • In this instance, he was definitely driving too fast to maneuver around things properly. But I do agree with you. The point of these adverts is not to always vilify the driver, but to point out that we can all do our bit to reduce the risk. People are taught not to run out into the road. Conversely, people are taught not to speed so that if someone DOES run out into the road, the risk of a collision is reduced.

  • @wuzzlevideos i agree and speed is AN issue, but not the only issue. but if he was on a highway doing 100km/h and came up on that truck still doing 20km/h less then the speed limit he would have been able to get around it! the point is that too many people travel at an unsafe distance WHILE speeding!

  • @littlescotty1987 Yeah, there's definitely a lot of issues, but if we can do one simple thing to drastically reduce the death toll, why shouldn't we? Because people are impatient arseholes is why :(

People who don't indicate are my current pet hate.

  • @wuzzlevideos the amount of stupid things i see out on the highway every night is just scary!

  • Well she doesn't have to worry about that mole anymore.

  • lol

  • lol

  • I highly doubt this ad had anything to do with his speed, for one he should of turned a little sharper to get into the other lane so it would prevent hitting the truck, and he should of done a head check to make sure there wasn't another car someing up beside him from the other lane :\ All in all its his own fault, but speed had nothing to do with that whole crash.

  • Exactly mate he would have avoided the crash if he turned sharper and looked further down the road at the truck thus being able to turn earlier.

I would like to see the statistics to support the claim for every 5 kays over your risk of crashing doubles.

THis would be impossible to precure unless the TAC had a data logger in every single on of the millions of cars registered

  • I remember this as their 2002 campaign and i remember watching the crash bit and it use to give me nightmare when I was 8

  • I love the Austrailian ad's coz they don't fanny about but I don't get this one.

His speed had fuck all to do with it, Yes he can't blame anyone else but it's his crap driving that causes the crash. Leave enough distance to the car in front and his speed wouldn't have made a difference.

Saying that though still like this type of ad.

  • Well you could say that because he was travelling so fast he came up on the truck faster than he expected to, and couldn't clear it in time?

  • You could say that, but I would say that defeats the purpose of the ad. Don't get me wrong I see the point of it and I think its an brilliant film, but i would say that if you wanted to highlight speed there are better ways to show that.

  • No you couldn't. If he looked up an towards the horizon as opposed to the bonnet as most drivers to most probably including yourself he would have turned earlier and slowed down if necessary.

I bet you are a dangerous driver as you constantly watch your speedo to make sure you don't offend your darling TAC rather than watching the road ahead of you.

  • stfu michael. we don't need to be told twice that you're the greatest driver in Australia.

  • hmm hit a nerve did i.

and no i never said i was the greatest driver i simplly was saying that idiots like you (i assume) swallow the propoganda of the RTA/TAC believing that speed kills and that if you stick to the speed limit and don't drink you will not crash.

People like that forget that it is not speed that kills but collisions. Collisions are caused by inatentivness like in this case where the driver doesn't even notice a huge fucking truck ahead of him. So you stfu

  • Fair go, the faster you're driving the less reaction time you have when something goes wrong.

  • Spacelamb WTF are you going on about.

Did you not get my point. He could have been going 100 fucking kph and as long as he was watching the road and not fucking staring at his dumb wife a modern car would easily make a safe turn out of the lane without hitting the truck. Speed didn't kill here him not watching the road did.

  • Anything can happen when you're driving. A car, or a bike, or a person can appear from an unexpected location at any time. A driver going at a lower speed has slightly more time to respond than a person driving at a high speed. In a traffic collision a few seconds can make a huge difference. My original point still stands.

  • but speed is THE thing that determines the severity of the collision if you have one... the faster your travelling the more likely your chance of serious injury or death, speed does kill.

go and label real progoganda for what it is and better direct your thoughts.

  • The fact that people don't understand this boggles my mind. You have all of these retards banging on about what is and what isn't "Safe Speed" while spouting all this shit about speed cameras and revenue generation. Basically, they just don't like being told what to do.

  • Heres an analogy the speed of a plane (as well as the altitude) is proportionate to the severity of damage done in a plane crash, just as speed is proportionate to damage done in a car crash.

We train pilots to be skilled at operating a plane we don't give them speed limits and show them scary ads of plane crashes. For some reason we assume car drivers don't need training though. We also place a massive emphasis on speed whilst paying little attention to distractions in the car, mobiles etc

  • I am not encouraging speeding it pisses me off when I see another motorist thrashing it especially in school zones (which incidentally are not marked with flashing lights) but I am far more concerned with the fact that lives are being lost due to a stupid emphasis on speed as the main cause of accidents whilst largely ignoring other factors.

You inferred that speed determines the severity of the collision, but it does not cause the collision but hey our politicians won't have it.

  • Being tired accounts for more accidents than any other cause. Really, these should say go to sleep you pricks!

  • Our politicians would rather implement knee jerk reactions like more speed cameras, lower speed limits, double demerit points, discriminatory restrictions on p plate drivers for that is what pleases the idiotic press in Australia mainly the daily telegraph and the am radio airheads Alan Jones and John Laws.

It is far less appealing to the press to report good news and real solutions thus the real solutions will never win votes.

  • thus why democracy doesn't work, especially when so many of us australians are so apathetic, we basically don't understand whats going on and what needs to be changed, and even when we do we hardly ever protest! it shits me.

  • Too right.

  • ive had an accident same as that side ways in to pole and straight away the dipshit police blame me for speeding when some cock smoker pulled out from behind a parked car not even looking and i tried 2 miss aand hit a pole at 45kph breaking 2 ribs and my wrist.

  • Good thing you were driving at a reasonable speed. Sorry to hear you were injured but at least your responsible driving prevented it from being worse.

  • i say he should have been watching the road and not listening 2 his bitch!

  • HOLY SHIT

  • Yeah Holy shit

  • Lets see...

He's driving inattentively, following too closely, and not looking where he's going while he changes lanes. And all he can blame is his speed? I call bullshit.

I sincerely hope the person who came up with this pile of horseturds dies of an inflamed rectal prolapse.

  • Be fair though, the reason he's following too closely is because he's creeping up to the vehicle in front faster than he would normally, which doesn't give him room to pull off the pass.

  • Its about time they banned women fron talking in cars because its bloody distracting!!!

  • People go 5-10 MPH over in the US all the time. The police ought to crack down.

  • I do blame the truck driver. Stopping for no reason why?

  • Legally it isn't the truck drivers fault

  • Your thinking wrong. If you are a driver you always have to take your distance, always keep in mind that the driver in front of you can stop because of anything. (car failure, problems with his heart etc.)

  • I remember a TAC ad I saw on Tarrant on TV here in UK, where a girl ended up in a wheelchair and we saw snapshots of her life throughout the years. At the end she was about 40 and saying that if she had never got into that car she wouldn't be in the situation she was in today.

  • I'm from the UK too, that's where my fascination with road safety adverts started :) The advert you speak of is on Youtube already, try searching for "netball girl's nightmare" - enjoy!

  • we need more adverts like this in the UK...the ones we have are just not hard-hitting enough!

  • lol thats fuckin stupid

  • Why? Is there something about the video you disagree with, or are you just a typical no-brained YouTube commenter?

  • yes it isnt realistic u idiot!!!!!!

  • What? Excessive speed leading to an inability to control a car? Yes, completely unrealistic. Jesus christ I hate YouTube.

  • you can also blame his shithouse driving...

  • Everyone is correct in that there are heaps of things that cause a car crash, however...

    Speed is the key.

A damaged car can be fixed, but a damaged human can't always be fixed.

The slower you go the less likely you are to be injured or killed.

    It really is that simple.

You can drive like shit and do everything wrong at 20km/h...

But the faster you go, 60, 70, 80, 100, you translate that shit driving into dangerous driving because you increase your chances of being injured or killed.

  • people crash when driving the speed limit or below too

  • Much more to what constitutes 'safe speed' than numerals on a speed-restriction sign, but yes, events like this happen often enough, the causes are multifactoral.

    'Speed-limit conditioning' is deadly.

  • Don also allowed his vehicle to come within a distance that was too close to the truck. However unsafe following distances are too hard to police, so lets blame the accident solely on Don exceeding the speed limit.

Remember, every time you exceed the magic number on the sign, God kills a kitten.

  • I like you. More comments please!

  • Don is about to kill his wife. Don is also practicing on how not to be seen. Mr. Don, will you please stand up. *boom*

  • I wish I understood what you were referring to, I have the feeling I'm missing something here :)

  • Monty Python's Flying Circus: "How Not To Be Seen" skit.

  • Ahhh! Fair enough, I will go find that :)

  • hahah!

  • wow look at the all the doors open isn't elantra ??

  • Silly bitch.

  • Speed doesn't kill. He crashed because he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. The slower people drive, the less focused they become on actually "driving".

  • Alternatively, the faster you're going, the faster you come up on objects, and the less time you have to react.

    Or not? :)
