Here's what I think about slavery..... America was better off WITH slavery. Because when blacks wewre slaves, we gave them a place to live and food to eat in exchange for their work. Today, we give them food stamps, welfare, public housing, and we dont get any work out of them for it. All we get is crime, and a lot of whining. The South will rise again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were tribal warfares, mass-murders among natives even after white man arrived. So i dont see how natives can be innocent, loving and stuff. Btw most natives died of diseases that they didnt have immunity to and some were killed in wars with whites.

Whereas natives did not know what lied beyond 10 mile radius. They were living in a small tents, never developed any structure. Their science was absolutely backwards. They never had a sense of citizenship, killed each other even after whites showed up. Never got united. Whites were clearly ahead of natives in everything.

They were still riding horses, throwing spears and talking to animal spirits. Industrialization did not start in europe until 17th century and its population was 80 mn in 1500s. Low population and no industrialization, so no need of resources.

First "Africans" should not be the term used. People who were born on this continent don't refer to themselves as such. They call themselves Ethiopians, Gambians etc. Second, There were "Dark Skinned" Arabs(Muslims) that sold other darkskinned non-muslims into slavery along with the people from Morocco(Moors). The people sold into slavery have been known throughout history as the lost tribe of Israel. I don't see people saying that we should forget the holocaust and this was worse.

Why would a slaver kill his slave, they weren't deliberately killed. Don't tell me whites physically went and killed blacks and took them hostage, tribal conflict between Africans always left slaves which they then sold to whites. Yes, slaves died, but no one except the tribes themselves are at fault. It's not the first time African tribal conflict started genocides, there is two going on right now.

The dismissive ‘oh there was slavery in Africa before the Portuguese’ is almost obscene. The slavers were Mohammedans and they had destroyed all but one great African civilisation. That fell in 1590. The enslavement of the African peoples to the Portuguese, also religious zealot slavers, was then completely unstoppable. Where are all the eye witness accounts by the literate clerics of the Roman Church and their cries of horror and indignation? South America was utterly smashed by 1530.
