AND a big difference here is that the bird flu COULD be caught by direct contact with the birds. This particular strain of swine flu is not caught from pigs directly.

You do not get swine flu from eating pork. In fact the term 'swine flu' is misleading. 'WHO' has requested the name to be changed. The original swine flu from pigs cannot be transmitted to human. You only get swine flu from human-human transmission. In fact, the current swine flu is mostly human flu+some strands of bird flu and very little original swine flu.

WHO says the eating pigs cannot give a person swine flue and also being around pigs is very small possibility of getting swine flu. Without swine flu in Egypt pigs WHO says it is bad idea to kill pigs. This is why WHO is not using name "swine flu" now, because they do not want Egypt to kill pigs for no reason.
