Algebra is originally an Arabic world for "al harbra". But yes, much of the knowledge that the Muslim world acquired was from the Greeks, Persians, and Indians.

@CroPETROforever you are right, well, about the byzantine part. it's not "propaganda" or "lies" that the Muslim world was in a golden age at that time. Its true. Many of the inventions that European inventors later perfected were originally from the Muslim world. The numbers you use were devised by Muslim mathematitians in Spain. Algebra is originally an Arabic world for "al harbra". But yes, much of the knowledge that the Muslim world acquired was from the Greeks, Persians, and Indians.

@morerad123 Well, muslims acquired 80-90% of their knowledge of that time from Greeks, Romans, Persians and Indians, so even if muslims gave something from greeks and romans to western europeans trough IT WAS BRINGING european knowledge back to europeans. Not to mention that Byzantine Empire kept everything from greeks and romans and even more than islamic world, because byzantines were directe succesors of Roman empire.

@CroPETROforever of course. but the greeks didn't advance much past what the romans did. the muslims took that knowledge and combined it with eastern knowledge to make thousands of the volumes that the first scientists in europe studied when they travelled to islamic spain. you would notice that after the year 1000, a few christian european scientists started to emerge. the byzantines were stil stuck in the helenic way of thinking and not the modern way of actually doing experimentslikeeuropeans

@morerad123 Also, Islamic religion and islamic world is today in puberty , the same puberty we europeans were in middle ages... but that's not wierd because islam religion is 600 younger than christianity, and muslim world needs 200-300 years to evolve into what european society is today... AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I don't have that much time to wait muslims to evolve, because as you know, humans do not live 200 years, they should evolve in their own countries not in europe as immigrants.

@CroPETROforever Not really. When the first Islamic Empires rose, they were far ahead of Christan Europe at that time. However, major corruption in economy, politics, and society has degraded many Muslim countries. Today, Muslim countries are catching up rather quickly. Turkey has one of the largest economies, armies, and influences in the world these days. The Arab world is under revolution. In, no time, the Muslim world would catch up.

@morerad123 you wanna say to me that arabic/islamic civilization of 10th and 9th century was greatest than Byzantine culture and empire? lol... I CAN JUST LAUGH.... your "precious" islamic empire stole everything from other civilization: architecture from persia, hellenic astrology and logic from egypt etc etc... Byzantine had continuation of it's greatness till 1453 AD, and it was BYZANTINE EMPIRE that made Europe what is today along with Roman empire with legacy in Byzantines.

@morerad123 bro I respect your islam culture but why should I pay any attention to Islam, it's your culture and religion not mine... you just keep it for yourself... we can respect each other but we should never live togethar as two cultures and there is no need for something like that. first you should allow to build churces in arabia etc... than we will be more open minded.

@CroPETROforever You need to get your facts right lol, Islam and Christianity lived peacefully togethor, thus you get churches in lebanon, palestine, iraq, iran, jordan, egypt etc... lol dont forget your holy sepulchre is in the middle east. Also you state that our religion isnt for you, well dont forget your religion isnt for us, the first crusade was to evade tention between christian forces around europe, seeings how they were killing themselves, so the pope moved there attention to Palestine
