Unfortunately I really doubt that. Now that new game, ugh I cant remember the name, something with an A, Aion i think? That might give it a run for its money but the majority of free online games don't stand up to WoW and also leaders such as Everquest and City of heros for a key reason. They cant afford to make as detailed expansions. They tend to have lesser expansions and smaller games. Also we hear enough of this on the forums, we both know you actually play wow and want to start shit.

I love it, Because All WoW People Know that guild wars 2 Is going to be 100% better with no fees, but the continue to pay there $15, (I think thats the fee for WoW?), and yet Guild wars is more creative, with more story, Creatures. WoW Does have a bit of verity, but $15 dollars? Seriously? And I still Don't understand how 10 million people pay $15 dollars a month, when they could just snag a copy of guild wars, with no fees.

I really don't get why people down rated this comment, though I have to disagree on some levels. MMOs and consoles don't work well together, however the game system ITSELF did feel like a console game more then a PC game. Really it felt VERY heavily like glorified single player. At least that's how it felt to me.

WoW wasn't the first MMO but it's current population is more then EVERY other MMO's population combined. Most people reference WOW because of its large end success and the fact it was 'my first mmo' for MANY people. Oh, and they figured WORKING system in existing mmos and copied/updated them, which in turn made the game feel like it had been getting customer updates for years when it was just released. Thank god the lead creators where ex everquest guild leaders.

Active accounts. Also many free MMOs also have players of PAYING mmos as well. I myself play a few because they give a break from the style. Also what leads you to believe I'm obsessed? Seriously? I was explaining why people reference WoW as 'the mmo'. By the way do you have an idea of how WoW is legally handled? The thing your paying for is renting out an account, you do own the disks. Just like if they wanted too GW could charge you. You don't own your account, you only own your disks.

Yes, its not a WoW rip off, its a Diablo rip off. All joking aside, yes it does hold its own unique...shall I say, flair? However I do hope they take a lesson from other MMOs (Specifically WoW, EverQuest, and Champions) and offer a much deeper game then the first one. Also drop the grind that was leveling in GW, if people say WoW and EQ are grinds, then whats GW?

GW isn't grind-filled at all. You can easily hit max level in an hour or two. On the other hand, WoW is an absolute grindfest. From what I understand it takes the same amount of exp to go 60-70 as 1-60. Ridiculous.

I agree with you on the whole "make it deeper" idea, and from what I've read, they're really trying to do that.

Did you play at release of GW? They might have sped it up but when it first came out one level took one day. That wasn't just me either, It took me half a month to meet someone past level 10 (And yes I was past the 'past' part). As for WoW you can easily hit 80 in a week with minimal effort, I'v met people who do it in a month with only 2 hours a day. Remind me to re install guild wars later this month to give it another try (After 3 years or so worth of patches, don't have my old re installs)

Well, I guess I exaggerated a bit. It would take a couple hours to hit level 20, though now that you mention it, it did take forever to hit 20 in the original campaign. In the newer two it's pretty quick, but it's still fairly slow in the first one. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Its ok, I understand what you mean, I never did play the expansion (Or was it stand alone?) myself. Friend owns them both, both times hoping to find the game actually entertaining dispute the fact he hated the first one. Its good to know they fixed their leveling time though, sounds like guild wars 1-20 has the leveling speed of say, WoW 1-20 (From an experienced player's perspective, not a first time thorougher).

If we liked the fully instanced mmo world, we would have played wow instead. Fortunately, gw was developed differently, as there are quite a few people out here who like this better. I really don;t get the point why people need to go through this same useless argument. After 3-4 years of active GW play, now I'm really awaiting GW2 :)

You mean you wouldn't play WoW, guild wars is the instanced one. Yes GW was developed differently, however it extremely quickly delved into the realm of 'Free MMos" aka having to purchase half the good features. I followed the game from its original development to release and had it on week one. At this time I had NOT touched WoW or any other POPULAR MMO, only a few under dogs. I love other games similar, but the way guild wars treated itself was just, depressing.

Unfortunate thing was guild wars original was one of the most poorly put together games I'v played. Good idea, VERY good idea, but alot of things messed up it. Mainly it WAS NOT an MMO, MMO's have you involved with other players constantly in a majority of the world, not the ENTIRE WORLD instanced. If Guild wars was an MMO then so is counter strike. It was a multiplayer RPG.

At earlyer stages in its development they did. I also remember somewhere on the original packaging reading it to be labeled as one (Unfortunately I cant find the spot right now, might have been on the jewel case which I have since thrown out, I keep disk in a large sleeve. However It now appears they finally admit it is not. Thankfully this game appears to be based on traditional MMO's freedom however. Please NC, charge for this one so you can offer what should be FREE features for free.
