hey man thanks a lot for the awesome tutorial! i've always loved the stabby synth chords but i never was quite sure on how to get it just right. this video helped me out a ton and it was exactly what i was looking for!
Cheers for the sweet tutorial! Just one thing, try to get a more clean voice playback so its easier to hear and follow along... Especially if your speaking during a synth plackback ;) But otherwise great stuff! Cheer cheer!
Very helpful! Thanks alot for the tutorial! :) I've been producing Progressive house music for a long time and I've never been creating my own synth for the sound! Working on a recreation of one of my first progressive tracks that I've ever made. Once again, thanks! I would love if you checked my tracks out and told me what you think! :)
Thank you so much for this video. I appreciate it so much. I have been searching for a big stabby progressive synth line to finish up my song for a while now and could not figure out how to make one my self. I would love to show you the track when it is done because you really helped pave the way! Thanks a ton man! I appreciate it. I loved the 130 am at the top of your menu bar on the mac. Appreciate it.
i came here to say thank you, i learned a lot of your video. here is the result, check it out if you want: soundc l o u d . com/julian-kreutz/untitled .. without the spaces
I should note that you will only have Operator, Analog and Ableton's other instruments if you have Ableton Suite or you purchase them separately. If you just have the Ableton Live demo, I HIGHLY recommend you spend the extra $ and get Suite if/when you decide to buy.
hey bro, what instrument did you use to play the notes prior to adding the operator, cuz i cant get that progressive sound, i need to know what instrument you used to play the notes, thanx good video, i learned alot..
@kevon050687 If you purchased Ableton Live 8 instead of Ableton Suite 8, or have Live Lite, etc, you won't have any instruments like Operator or Analog. You can purchase them separately but it's much less expensive to just upgrade to Suite. Still, at something like $700 (or $400 on educational, like I bought it), it's still damn expensive. However, I think it's worth the extra $150ish to upgrade over Live 8 alone.
Man i love the video. top notch. could you do somthing on bass sounds .even if u cant this was enough. thank you for sharing your knowledge :) have a good day
thanks man this helped a lot... i was getting so frustrated because i knew how to make the sound expect for the past 2 months i forgot to turn the envelope up -__- anyway u helped a ton, thanks :D
Thanks for all the great comments. Glad I could help some of you! Apologies for the poor vocal audio...It was 3am and I had to use my built in mic. I promise it will be better next time.
Speaking of next time, what kind of tutorial would you like to see next? Keep in mind that I'd like to focus on using Ableton's core instruments and not VSTi's. Make your suggestion in the comments or in a video response and the person(s) idea I pick will get a mention in my next tutorial!
I would really appreciate, and I'm sure others would too, if you could do some more tutorials on making various House synths on operator like this one. Tutorials of this calibre are really lacking on Youtube.
Do you mind if I use your chords setup in a part of this song I'm attempting to make?
(also, on a sidenote, it was really hard to hear what you were saying near the end you probably should've turned down the synth's volume a little for the tutorial but other than that nice video)
TURN ON THE SUBTITLES THERE HILARIOUS
