that year, we did not make finals. our individual music score was pretty high...around 4th and 6th place i think? marching, was low...that's what kept us out of finals. i think around 16th place.
overall, in prelims we were one or two away from finals. so, 15th or 16th.
for me, if we would have just done a show over sonoran desert holiday, that would have been great. sonoran is one of the most gorgeous pieces i have heard, and the ballad, just the same. but out of all the ballads we have done, i must say this is by far the best one. but yes, this was a pretty technical piece. our music arranger kept it pretty close to the original, and it came out wonderfully. he knows how to keep the music original, but still sound great in marching band. good luck though!
My band(Millard North High School) is doing Rocky Point, and Sonoran Desert pt. 1&2 this year. A very challenging show. I love this arrangement along with the drill. Cool show! I'm posting this before the video is over, I hope the drum feature from SDp.2 wasn't left out. Haha
nice, we (Jefferson Forest High) are playing Rocky Point Holiday for our show's opener this year. the mallet parts sounded solid...but i bet we're better :P
ha! um, thanks i think...but yeah, our last comptetition, and they cannot get the name of the show right. i saw the one you have, it sounded good, but i couldn't really hear...it was too muffled. but thanks for the comment.
so i love how this is our last comp. and they still can't get the name of our show right! it's a holiday!!! not a full freakin circle! this was our best one though.
Hey now...yeah...they're getting better at it though.
We actually did well the following year with our WW's.
We were able to project more, and in a "dome"/closed stadium.
