Can you explain to me how this USDA subsidy thing works? Is it a per acre payout, is it tax free dollars, what is the average payment for the last 10 years in your area? I know some boys up Minnesota way that got close to a million dollars over a 10 year span farming a couple thousand acres. I'd probably have a new combine too.
@5harvester Farm subsities were put in place to keep food prices low. In the old days there were many cases of people taking advantage of the program so now there is a cap to how much payment a farmer can get. The payment is so much per acre depending what program the farmer is in. To expalin all the farm subsities I would need much more room than I have here. The subsities are much less now than in years past. I think that we don't need them anymore to be honest. Let the market determine price.
Geez rub it in, it's been raining here for more than a week now, less than 2% of the beans are off, corn silage is still standing in the field as even it is still to high in mointure for chopping! Good video though, keep up the good work!
