This is the exact setup that the Tritton AXPros use and the box is exactly the same. Lol These piece of shit companies are doing everything they can to sell us cheap shit. I have the AXpros and they sound great compared to Turtle Beach, but this setup is what ruins the speakers. You cant power down the headphones without unplugging one of the plugs to the dolby box. Then when you plug back in notice the popping sounds it forces into the ear piece. This is why I say GET PROTECTION PLAN BEST BUY!

hi dude...i just ot my ps3 and sharkoon 5.1...all setup was done following the manual and your video....i can hear my voice when I test the mic...but the ps3 sounds dont come out via headset...also the optical cable doesnt fit very well on the ps3 back...but fits well on the sharkoon controller...do you know what can be? should i reset the ps3? or something like that? thanks

You could also use this threw a TV's optical out if you want Dolby pro-logic which I see you can only get threw selecting HDMI on the PS3's Audio settings. Unless of course they upgraded that threw the PS3s firmware and slim hardware but I have not checked recently.

@TheDoma95 I,m returning mine man, I'm getting the tritton aw pro's, I dont know if you play socom confrontation but I ahve played around with the sound setting and I still cant hear stuuf acrosss the map. My friend has the trittons and he says he can hear every thing, kinda werid cause the sharkoons are a knock of the trittons, same thing but maybe just cheaper technology, I dont know but I will let you know if there is a diffrence or not?? I like the sharkoons they are really nice.

ok folks this vid is great on how to set up your headset, but one thing i did figure out is that you do not select DTS 5.1 when you are in the play station audio setup screen, just select 5.1 surround sound, when you select DTS 5.1 they will not work on KILLZONE 3 AND SOCOM CONFRONTATION. The headset does not support DTS 5.1 audio, it says no where on the box and instructions? Well after I unselected the DTS 5.1 every thing worked great!!!!! Hope this helps.

They do I figured it out, on the sony audio settings just select 5.1, not DTS 5.1. I was have the same issue with socom confrontaion and I did that and I can hear every thing now.

I have set my headset up to my Ps3 but i have a problem. The optical connection cable (s/pdif/d) wont fit all the way in with out holding the lead in place on the back of the ps3 but even when holding the optical cable in place the sound is hit and miss one monent the sound is great the next it goes off how can i fix this. Mic is turned up on the side... Everything else sounds fine. The mic registers as working in the XMB be also. I can see the meter moving when I speak. Could it be the speakers responsible for voices has blown maybe??

I have a question TechExplosion, I just got my headset, and played it with the new Medal of Honor, and they sound great, but when I put in my God of War and Uncharted and Heavy Rain games I get no sound, I did noticed that the Dolby light goes off when I play these games. But they play all my music that I have on my PS3. Why don't they play these other games?

@tkiraly1 You should turn off DTS in those games. Because the Sharkoon SCU can't handle it. Go to audio options and uncheck the box in front of DTS.

i just bought these and i hooked them up just like u said but my DRC nor Digital LED's are lit up on the surround sound box itself. only the power button LED is lit.. i've adjusted the switches on the box and have pressed the DRC button but nothings happeninig.. i still get sound and everything but the LED's just dont lite up for me. am i doing anything wrong?

@gitdatcash126 You might have just gotten a unit with defective LED's, if it bothers you that much I say you exchange the product for another of the same one or if it doesn't bug you that much and everything is working fine, than stick with it. :) It's a killer headset!

@gitdatcash126 hi, the switch with the drc/pl writing under it only switches the mode aka enables the use of the effect. anyway...the media whitch you wanna hear has to be encodet or at least send in the right format to your control-unit....example: on my ps3, i had to manually enable the dts feature on both devices,but the led only lid up as i start a medium whitch supports the feature (most games) in fact,the led´s are only a sign that the feature is used...hope i could help you MfG Chris

@DiabolicalAce Make sure it is inserted into the headset properly with the dot lined up to the headsets dot, all the necessary cables are hooked up to whatever you are using it with and if on PS3 make sure the microphone is set to pick up audio from the PS3's sound settings.

And you're going to love this thing, it's awesome! It's not hard to setup on the 360 at all, it's basically this plus an extra cable on the side that goes to the 360 controller for the mic.
