Their final match was against Fremantle, which they lost in round 22.
Their final win came earlier in the season (round 7?) against Fremantle.

Even Ross Oakley said the Brisbane merger wasn't a merger, it was a "corporate takeover". Instead of saving two struggling Victorian clubs, they destroyed one and left another one still languishing at the brink of doom. It won't take the AFL long to merge North Melbourne into the new Gold Coast franchise.
The real Lions are not Brisbane but the Fitzroy Reds.

I remember my family giving money to other Victorian clubs. They had a vote in 1994 when it looked grim for us every Victorian except Carlton supported are survival. Then they all voted 15-1 for the Brisbane merger instead of North. Being afraid that a merger with North. would be disastrous for Victorian football.

It would've been the North Melbourne Lions, it might sound weird but I kind of wish it had been North, I'm not really partial to the "Kangaroos" name, I prefer to refer to them as North, or North Melbourne, and we may have become a powerhouse. I'd prefer success than keeping our history.
I also think it would've given Fitzroy the not-so-bad way out, sure, they still would have lost their club and had what it moved, but not nearly as far as Brisbane.
