Practicing with real guns like that is not practicing. I cant stop myself shooting the the person in front of me. I forgot practicing, and I just shoot and it would be a disaster. Never do that guys..

It's quite easy to master (if we're talking te one and only move), but it would take YEARS of practice to make this move actually usable. It's just because it has to be trained to become a reflex action, so you would basically do it automatically. Cause being held at gunpoint at point-blank range is quite stunning)

I too think it is dangerous and unnecessary to use a live firearm to practice with. They make fairly realistic airsoft guns these days. As for the comment on finding the balls on a woman,if you kick a woman in the crotch she WILL give a reaction the same as a man. Probually the pain is not as intense(really hard to tell as pain is subjective and varies from person to person) as it is for a man.

How do you a grip a firing gun on the slide? In the video the slide doesn't appear to go back and if you're holding on to it I imagine it would be noticable.
@MrCrowley45 English isn't my first language, but I'll try to explain: your hand is actually strong enough to hold the slide in place when the gun fires. Beware becouse the bullet will still fire, so make shure you move the gun/yourself out of it's path. Becouse the slide doesn't move the case will still be stuck in the gun, so you have to pull the slide back and forth before you can shoot again.

If this were a real gun being fired, then shouldnt it have ripped his hand apart. On a semiautomatic pistol with a slide, such as the one shown, when it is fired, the slide slides back and by him grabbing the top of the gun, should have his hand like hamburger meat. I feel that is better than a hole in the head, but someone correct me if I am wrong- I have always wondered about Krav Maga gun disarm techniques- great style love it, but that always bothered me.
Hello! We have tested the final part of the disarm technique with real ammo, Glock 17, 9mm. Obviously in a safe environment without risk of blow up your head. And don't worry, nothing happens in your hand except a little dirt and an annoying beep in your ear. no burns and no flying fingers.
@jerrwolf I don't practice krav maga, but I know that if you grab a semi-automatic pistols slide and push it back just enough to nudge the hammer, it won't fire. If you grab a revolver(must be double-action but nowadays they all are) by the revolver it also won't fire.
@jerrwolf If you hold a semi auto pistol around the slide it will stop the slide traveling back and chambering another round, thus rendering the gun unable to fire until the slide is re racked. It won't do anything to ur hand at all. If you dont believe me there are videos on Youtube of guys firing a handgun while holding the slide and preventing it form travelling backwards.
@jerrwolf What is repeated in KM is that if you are holding the slide good enough it will not injure your hand. To me I would like to see either in person or a good video displaying this. I've seen video of it done but nothing assures me it is a real gun.
this is possibly the dumbest thing i've seen. it's perfectly reasonable to use a paint gun or bb gun instead of something that could actually put a hole in you. It takes the same skill, tells you if you screwed up, and doesn't offer the accidental possibility of someone getting killed.
Have been to his school for a seminar and this practice is tottaly what it seems to be. The gunshot is real (hopefully with blanks) which shows that even if you can react in time, late reaction by the shooter is to be expected. So it needs a lot of practice not just to learn the move, but also to stay out of bullets way when move is done.

@dannyvan21 Loaded and cocked are two very different things, a gun can be loaded for sure but may not be able to fire until cocked if the the mechanism is single-action.
First your hand will not be damaged much by the gun should it go off, even if you get your hand pinched in the slide it is better than your head taking a bullet. Second a semi-auto pistol cannot re-chamber a round while the slide is being held.

I will admit this style of hand to hand combat is impressive.
However, That gun is a semi-auto, means that the MUZZLE ENERGY from firing a round in a hand gun would cause the spring loaded slide to come back. The spring causes the slide to retract reloading it. When it was fired, his hand was over the chamber. The ejected shell would have burned his hand and the slide would slice up his hand. After he took the gun away, he had to cock it. No semi automatic gun would need to be cocked again.

Brandon Lee died when a piece of the fake bullet they had loaded in to the gun broke off and became lodged into the barrel. When they put the blank in, the pressurized air shot the broken piece out, killing him. Look, I respect what you're doing and I'm getting into Krav Maga, taking my first class soon. My problem here is that I train with firearms and force on force training, we never use live rounds, it's just not worth the risk.
krav maga is NOT a martial art but since it utilizes the nastiest tecniques of a variety of martial arts it is necessary to register ones hands as weapons after recieving so much advanced training. its not traditional in any respect and it is progressive, using new and tried and true teqniques. the krav maga symbol itself means let in the good and let out the bad. let in new a more devastating tecniques and forget the ones that don't work so well.
umm, have you not watched human warrior on the history channel? One of the main guys there was an mma fighter and the guys of the IDF put a hurting on him! 11 knife stabs to the body. Not a real knife though. A person trained in KM will stop the attacker before he gets a hit in! MMA is for sport, KM is for defense, even if it means killing or completely paralyzing your opponent. Last I checked, mma does not allow that! I don't think mma fighters would know how to fight like that!

it's surprising how stupid people can be with a firearm. Untrained fighters will get that close for intimidation and so they can show power. Not only that, they could also be getting into some form of a scuffle and the guy with the gun will just suddenly draw and hold him at gun point.
Agree with Marty, in most cases a robbery or an assault it will be physical leading up to the gun being drawn so they will be close to you. Distance shootings are really rare and usually only happen when people are set on killing you from the get go.

Krav Maga has multiple defenses for a hand gun. This is a two handed gun defense used when you have people to both your right and left.

it should be:
1) hands up slowly, ("I don't want any trouble, just take my money")
2) grab gun with left hand and move it t your right (takes the danger away)
3) grab the bottom of the hand ggrip with your right hand
4) twist the gun so it faces up, thus braking the shooters index finger
5) pull the gun out smoothly so it does'nt fire (if it did, it would only fire up(away from you!))
6) run and call the police! or keep the shooter there.

First your hand will not be damaged much by the gun should it go off, even if you get your hand pinched in the slide it is better than your head taking a bullet. Second a semi-auto pistol cannot re-chamber a round while the slide is being held.

gardash - do not get me wrong but the slide of a semi-automatic double action handgun, when not held properly, can cause severe damage to ones hand, more specifically the skin that connects the thumb and the index finger. i have done it to myself once and it hurt like fuckin hell! so ya u dont know shit

real, the gun can't slide back to load another bullet, thats the whole point of grabbing the barrel and pointing it away from your head, then twisting the gun with the enemies finger still on the trigger, breaking his finger.
Notice he cocked it again to load another bullet after the shot.

Excuse me, but really.. what do you know about guns? Muzzle energy is distributed rather well - and i've never experienced a slide slicing ones hand. The cocking is done because you have to be certain of the gun's condition at the moment.
But I agree with you, that even though it wouldnt burn his hand, it must have been quite warm - but its a matter of priority, you are simulating a life threatening situation.

I will admit this style of hand to hand combat is impressive.
However, That gun is a semi-auto, means that the MUZZLE ENERGY from firing a round in a hand gun would cause the spring loaded slide to come back. The spring causes the slide to retract reloading it. When it was fired, his hand was over the chamber. The ejected shell would have burned his hand and the slide would slice up his hand. After he took the gun away, he had to cock it. No semi automatic gun would need to be cocked again.

Brandon Lee died when a piece of the fake bullet they had loaded in to the gun broke off and became lodged into the barrel. When they put the blank in, the pressurized air shot the broken piece out, killing him. Could've happened to any action star at any time, just sucks it had to be someone with such great potential to be so big.

Look, I respect what you're doing and I'm getting into Krav Maga, taking my first class soon. My problem here is that I train with firearms and force on force training, we never use live rounds, it's just not worth the risk.

krav maga is NOT a martial art but since it utilizes the nastiest tecniques of a variety of martial arts it is necessary to register ones hands as weapons after recieving so much advanced training. its not traditional in any respect and it is progressive, using new and tried and true teqniques. the krav maga symbol itself means let in the good and let out the bad. let in new a more devastating tecniques and forget the ones that don't work so well.

umm, have you not watched human warrior on the history channel? One of the main guys there was an mma fighter and the guys of the IDF put a hurting on him! 11 knife stabs to the body. Not a real knife though. A person trained in KM will stop the attacker before he gets a hit in! MMA is for sport, KM is for defense, even if it means killing or completely paralyzing your opponent. Last I checked, mma does not allow that! I don't think mma fighters would know how to fight like that!

i dont think you know anything about krav maga at all. krav maga is not a martial art, its not trying to be a martial art, its about reality based self defense. in reality what would be the fastest strike to temperarily incapacitate a man? a strike to the groin.
its all about getting the upper hand over your attacker lightning fast. sure, it may not be ethical or manly to kick a man in the groin, but if survival counts on it, you would do it.

it's surprising how stupid people can be with a firearm. Untrained fighters will get that close for intimidation and so they can show power. Not only that, they could also be getting into some form of a scuffle and the guy with the gun will just suddenly draw and hold him at gun point.

Agree with Marty, in most cases a robbery or an assault it will be physical leading up to the gun being drawn so they will be close to you. Distance shootings are really rare and usually only happen when people are set on killing you from the get go.
