oh shit, he SAID belushi. i just always thought it was always on off the record thing. well, there you go. look at his face when he talks about slimer. a little sad
OH SH$* where u get this from i have never ever saw this vid b4, so cool get to see the behind the scenes. All studios should do this with every cartoon series they make so we can see how its all done and put to film.
I don't think too many people understand how brilliant he is... probably because he does seem to stay quite low-key.. because not only was he Ray in the movie but he was actually the CREATOR of Ghostbusters!! I never knew that!! I saw him in a new light after I discovered that. Very interesting guy that Aykroyd
but you have to remember Ackroyds original draft was 90% different to the final film it was full of time travel and guys with wands instead of proton packs, very weird,.
i remember that winston was from the military and was supposed to teach these bumbling theoreticians how to shoot. the concept is amazing, it would HAVE to turn from wizards to proton packs. you cant really make something like that out of the blue.....
If good ol' Dan Ackroyd saw how the DVD box set is being sold and by how much, there's a great possibility that he and Muray will be suing Sony's coperate ass for abusing the franchise they made.
It was shown on CITV(kids slot of ITV) here in the UK around November/December 1989 on a Friday when the cartoon was shown. It was shown to promote both the cartoon and Ghostbusters 2. GB2 was released in the UK in cinemas in December 1989(those days we got films well after the USA). The cartoon was the number one cartoon on CITV at the time. Rolf Harris had his own show called Rolf's Cartoon time where he showed how cartoons were made. This was kind of a special episode of that show too.
I remember this too and have been wanting to see it again for years. I went seeing Ghostbusters 2 in cinemas a few weeks after. I was 6 at the time but remember it well.
I stand corrected. Atleast I know now. Thanks. I like the cartoons and the movies equally. Can't wait for the Ghostbusters game for PS3 coming in October.
I remember, after the show, they gave out an address to get details on a longer VHS version of the documentary for £9.99. The 11 yr old me mailed off and am still waiting!
LOL he was the natural choice as 'Real Ghostbusters' was an animation shown on CITV from 1988, & in 89 when the second film hit the cinema, Rolf presented another CITV ratings-winner, 'Rolf's Cartoon Club'.
Well...yeah. Look...nothing personal here, but why that guy? Why not someone like Weird Al Yankovic, or Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow, or Marc Summers and Fred Newman from Nickelodeon to do this instead of some outsider from England? Ghostbusters is a US show, not a UK one. That makes no sense to me.
Oh I gotchya Rodimus, it was made in the UK promoting the autumn release of Ghostbuster II here (I think it was out in June in the states) & also the animation in the children's ITV cartoon. Rolf Harris had presented a kids' cartoon show for yeears by then, and HIS new show was specifically about MAKING animation, hence this. It's a British programme. xx
Brilliant Rolf Harris is the perfect presenter for this special! (after his cartoon club) Ghostbusters II joined BTTF II, Last Crusade & BATMAN, for was a real blockbuster year!
a treat to see Len Jansen and Chuck Menville talk about story-editing! they're both geniuses and Len is one of my biggest inspirations in writing. Thanks for sharing! never saw this before

Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis created Ghostbusters. Murray was written specifically for Venkman by Aykroyd as they were good friends from SNL.

It had aired on ABC from 1986-88 and then in syndication from 1988-90. I may be wrong, though.
