The version we hbeard in the NYC clubs is the Dub version. The flipside of this 12 inch. and yes....it is on youtube. Peace Love and Hair grease to my club heads!!! Creepers, zodiacs and all that!!!
My Name is DJ Bond from Jersey City and as a very active dj at this period in time, I can tell you for a fact that this is not the version that you heard in the NYC clubs. The record stores that had it to sell only had bootleg copies and it was mixed differently. This version is close but there are way too many vocals on this and the arrangment was a different as well. In fact I believe the bootleg was made just for djs although anyone could buy it if you knew where to go. One

Wow, the 'really obnoxious' 80s synthpop drums really were best left off, but I do miss not having as much of the rest of the 80s synth effects.

@bronxboy129 That's OK, but thanks. It's obnoxious, but Dan made a heritage of poppy hits. He did damn good, too. I still prefer the Fletch cut.

Oh dear... this is so much better than my degraded 25 year old tape.
Thank you. Wow, I didn't think the drums and synth were THAT BAD, but it only adds to the enjoyable/camp factor.

This reminds me of Heart Throb's in NY back in the 80s. Little Louie Vega used to play the dub. Great memories
