This is why people are so scared of them. Some of them are mean as hell! I have 2 of the sweetest bantam roosters ever!-You'd swear they were puppies! But I also had a Rhode Island Red that pummelled me with
his spurs one day-right through denim pants and filled my leg up with deep puncture wounds that took weeks to heal. Also my uncle was seriously attacked by a rooster as a child. I would stick with docile breeds and handle them from the time they are chicks if you want them to be gentle.
exactly. i have little aurocauna bantmas. i've raised them since they were 3 weeks old. now they are 4 mo. they are very sweet, and wont attack you. they attack the other animals for some reason though..haha
Obviously none has ever chased you! I hope that never happens to you, it's not an envious position to be in, trust me! I wasn't afraid of them before then either!
wen i was little i used to be scared of them but gran chops off there heads if they attack us now. so im not particularly worried by them (bulls are worse, even when they dont have horns)
I agree. I never had any problems with roosters. I keep Japanese Bantams and some rescued Thai Fighting Cocks and hens (not for fighting) I love the roosters and they all get along free range.
I think people have problems with them if they treat them like babies, kissing them and cuddling them. Then they get too tame and are not frightened at all of people.
But can't imagine a little Japanese Bantam can really do much harm to a person lol.
