  • Dude looks like a cross between John Travolta(1970s) and Frank Sinatra. Creepy.

  • Actually I think Vinnie looks more like a character from the original Planet of the Apes. I think Bakshi doesn't care much for Italians when he makes the main character look like a monkey.

  • No wonder people in the u.s. are so fucked up

  • STOMPERS

  • @TheNatkidd that explains a lot

  • Z@Natkidd fuck you and your movie smarts wattch the movie fucker.

  • @Junzei Hey rude. I saw the whole movie BEFORE i posted this comment. Why do you gotta be like that. Anyway's this movie is funny. So it's not bad.

  • This story does not take place in the 50's.

    1. They were never like that.

    2. That doe's not have any 1950's style.

    3. They had the old hair style.

    4. There was no 80's music at that time.

And 5. All of those teenager's look so much 80's style.

  • @TheNatkidd Big Deal

  • @GreasyRockabilly What do you mean Big Deal.

  • @TheNatkidd It was set in the 50s, ever seen the movie grease? its set in the late 50s and they're just like this, and its 80s music and style because the film was made in the 80s.

  • @Visser0x Okay. But why would they put 80's style, on a film, that look's back, on the 50's. Just because, this was made in the 80's. No no no no. I watched the film. And i think it's funny, and entertaining. But why not just old 1950's music?

  • @TheNatkidd 50s doesn't appeal to 80s audiance.

  • @Visser0x Well, what about Back To The Future. That movie, was release, in 1985. The story about, Back To The Future, is about a teenager. Who time traveled. From 1985. To 1955. And seeing how, the 1950's were, at that time. And that movie was a big hit! It got good review's, they got a lot of money, and win an oscar.

  • @TheNatkidd mid 50s these are the late 50s

  • @Visser0x Wait wait wait. Are you saying, that. This movie. Take's place in the late 50's? Um. This movie take's place, in 1953. The early 50's.

  • @TheNatkidd WHAT THE HELL? REALLY? O.o Now i can see were you're coming from, this is a late 50s style. (clothing wise.)

  • @Visser0x What the heck are you talking about? And what's this. Clothing wise thing?

  • @TheNatkidd They look like greasers from the late 50s - mid 60s(?) from the way they dress that is = clothing wise

  • @Visser0x ..... Okay..... So what. I made you mad, or something.

  • @TheNatkidd no, I thought the movie was based in the late 50s due to the style of clothing, and was generally surprised by the fact its set in the early 50s

  • @Visser0x If you see in the begging, of this film. It will say 1953, when Vinny talk's about the 50's/

  • @Visser0x If you see the begining, of this film. It will say Brooklyn, 1953. When Vinny talk's about the 50's, to the woman.

  • @TheNatkidd I know that now, but I'm still confused on why they're dress in late 50s attire.

  • @Visser0x I don't know. Heck, that's what i want to know. Maybe, because. Ralph, doesn't care, how the 50's, really were, and just put too much 80's style, in a film, that take's place, in the 1950's. Maybe that's why. Now i don't hate him, or this film. But maybe that's the real reason. Heck, even Vinny's girlfriend, doesn't look like she's from the 50's, with that long hair, and dresses. And that's nothing 50's style.

  • @TheNatkidd agreed.

  • Jungle Bunnies? Dayum, but this was in 1982? I thought Blacks had rights by that time? Or is the film older than 1982...?

  • what song is that playing at 8:18?

  • Thanx Ray for part 6!

  • Every, single one of Ralph Bakshi's movies are like cartoons for teen punks and teen goths.

  • @Farfeb Punks, maby. But I think goths like horor movies more. I liked some of these but I wasn't punk or goth.

  • This is Yugioh on drugs.

  • god this looks weird.

  • Is Crazy based on Bugsy Siegel?

  • i dont understand negros are like people lol ...

  • TOMATOES!!!

    Tomatoes?

  • Ever since I sat my friend down to watch this movie we can't stop saying "HEEEEEY!" back and forth to each other.

  • Now that's what I call, "Passion in the Hamburger Patch."

  • Does anyone think Vinnie looks alike like the anime character Lupin The Third? same suit, sideburns and look. I bet Bakshi went to Japan in 1980 as he saw Castle of Cogliostro and got the inspiration for the character.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Not sure. Bakshi completed a version of this film that had live action backgrounds 1975 but it had to be remade. Vinnie's design might be the same in that version which would pre-date the Lupin films but not the manga. I think it's more likely he's based on typical teddy boy fashions from the 50s.

  • @Raymiles2

Gotta admit he does look like Lupin when you think about it only with monkey lips. Vinnie is just as cool as Lupin.

  • @Johnlindsey289 the only thing they have in common is a suit. Lupins suit and hair is more a 70s thing. Vinny is more a 50s characters. Lupins suit would have been seen as being too flamboyant and loud for that time.

  • @marktse

Whoa, you seen Castle of Cogliostro? Hayao Miyazaki/Ghibli's debut. Mr Bakshi and Spielberg praised that movie and an awesome introduction to Lupin.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah. I even watch the original Lupin series in 1971 on adult swim back in 2002 era.

  • @marktse

Did you ever see Hey Good Looking in the 90's as a teenager like i did since your 28? i watched it on TBS with Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule, American Pop and Robot Carnival and those were awesome movies you know. Since you like adult animation, seen Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Fist of the North Star, Beowulf, Ninja Scroll, Wicked City, South Park The Movie, Golgo 13 etc.?

  • @Johnlindsey289 i saw all of these on my own. but not on tbs. A lot of rentals with my own money. No censorship either.

  • @marktse

I saw Beavis and Butt-Head Do America in theaters when i was 15 3 times, South Park The Movie 2 times when i was 18 and the same goes for Princess Mononoke 2 times in my city's theaters. Did you like Akira and Rock and Rule as well?

  • @Johnlindsey289 i havne't seen rock and rule but i loved Akira. Who hasn't seen akira. Its the citizen kane of animation.

  • @marktse

Akira has been my fave movie since i was 14 15 years ago thanks to reading an article in newsweek about anime when i was in Junior High, rented it and loved it as i even bought a copy from one of my malls. You should check out Pink Floyd The Wall, Ghost in The Shell, Fantastic Planet, Watership Down, Urotsukidoji Legend of the Overfiend and Fritz The Cat? other cool not for kids animated movies. were you my age when you watched Akira?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Ghost in the Shell was awesome. Great movie, Fritz was funny but he as a character pissed me off very often. Being that he stired a lot of shit and got everyone else in trouble but got off scott free. Fantastic Planet was very 70s and very awful in smooth animation. Lots of tv tricks for a feature film. The story was a bit dated.

  • @Johnlindsey289 yeah...a little lupin...a little trevor goodchild...

  • @Johnlindsey289

Actually This Vinnie is based on Vinnie Barbarino from Welcome back Kotter.

  • @misterprickly

I think your wrong but he does look like Lupin at times

  • @Johnlindsey289 not really, only thing lupinish about him is really the side burns and the suit if you want to stretch it.

  • @Johnlindsey289 TV Tropes said the same thing
