Part of me wants to say "WOOHOO, hooray technology!" But It's probably a matter of time until studio musicians are out of jobs because of programs like this. Not saying this was made with those intentions but it might be an unfortunate byproduct of this =/.

@TOPCHOICE29 gosh 10 years! impressive! must be a masterpiece. I can only advise you to get the best computer you can get ;) and solid state drives and tons of ram. I must admit that my specifications aren't really the best for this set of strings. it probably annoys me most that you can't give them back if you are unhappy cause it'S software ;) and they are expensive.

also annoying is that some of the strings are way out of tune. okay a bit can sound nice and natural. too much here though. the ew player is also a pain when compared to other players. sorry not a happy customer. great sounding but usability poor. should have released this a few years later when computers are faster :( i must correct myself on the manual though. there is a digital manual included.

@TOPCHOICE29 hi, best is stationary pc not laptop.> install the supplied hd.>buy a second hd(solid state 400gb or more if u can afford) & install.otherwise regular hd> copy hd that ew supplies onto second drive> remove the ew-hd so no chance of the content being damaged. With laptop you can replace dvdplayer with a special kit and attach ss-drive. loads of ram and solid state is the only sensible way with hwstrings i guess...learning shortcuts of the library also helps save time. hope it helps

what do you think the specs are on the computer that this demo was recorded with? I am pricing a custom computer that can play this plugin at its optimum settings and so far its not pretty.

Fast Legato Bow-change not exists in Hollywood Strings Diamond. if you try to play faster than 70bpm Play engine switched to Slur and not Fast Bow Change Effect that usefull in most part of the score..., if I wrong please tell me...

but Hollywood Strings is first choice in market and 2 or 3 time better than other LA Scoring String. I hope that EastWest decide to make an update for "Fast Legato Bow-change" Effect that usefull in most part of the score

Its expensive but at least you dont have to hire real players which are way a lot more expensive and with the average listeners ears you wont really hear the differences between samples and real play, unless u r a musician. that Stardust movie was scored in Reason 4. And I though it was a real orchestra. If Reason 4 samples could fool people, this one could easily do that too.

They sound great & I own them but my computer (2.66 GHz IntelCoreDuo 8gb ram)already has difficulties. they're shipped on a HD so you need a casing for it to install unless you have a stationary pc. thumbs down. no manual!! thumbs down again. don't have the patches shown in the video tutorial & i really dont like browsing through +1000 patches to try and reproduce this tutorial. thumbs down again. using it on an ext.drive is really bad. loading good patches > 10 minutes!thumbs down again.

but yeah my studio .. is only like Korg Triton , Ipad , MPC1000 , korg kp3 , Mixer , 12 GB ram PC , Pro Tools , Reason , FL Studio 10 , Ableton , Waves plug-ins Ect... but good stuff if you have this plug in !!

However, the Demos and Samples on EW website don't show us the some special articulations , such as Bartok pizz., Col legno, and so on. Can we hear

these articulations?

I have thought of buying this product!

Hollywood Strings works on Mac and Windows. It's $1495 at the US site (soundsonline) or €1149 at the EU site (soundsonline-europe)

@EWQLTutorials can i use a solo instrument here? like if i want to use sound a of just one cello for a solo piece in between, is that possible? or its all about sections of instruments, because i can read all the patches names only in plural !! i really want to but this asap, so please help :-) thanks..
