I bought this mouse and noticed that if you're going to play loud music and play games at the same time. forget it. the laser sensor gets uncontrolable even if you hold the mouse completely still the cursor flyes all over the place. THUMB THIS UP for people who are thinking about getting this product and might have a second thought.
@tetragrammaton111 yes,my problem was the soft pad goliathus speed,then later i've read that laser do better with hard pads,then i swap it for a sphex and eliminates 80% of cursor shake,still shaking a little when i need to click small links,but no problems on games.
What about putting on Imperator tab that the 3.5g mouse normally works only on Hard Pad mats?With this you guys will not waste time of your costumers like me have wasted time on it that could be avoided by putting a phrase in the site like one of this about 3.5g Sensor:

I have been using the imperator on my old and pretty cheap a4 tech X7-300mp soft pad for over a year now and it kicks ass. I also had the opportunity to try it out on the Razer Ironclad pad and it sucked because I am not used to playing on hard pads at all. But in any case, your problem is not the mouse... try a different soft pad. It is also possible that you bought a defective mouse, in which case you should go and get it replaced.
The Imperator is easily the best mouse I've ever owned. Everything has been improved. The sliders make the mouse feel like its being pushed across a cushion of air. The laser was drastically improved. It's accurate again, no more erratic skipping. The software and macro capabilities were also improved.
The thumb well is about a quarter of an inch too close to the palm. And there's a tiny imperfection on the heel slider. It'll wear down soon tho.
seriously guys, DONT BUY THIS MOUSE. i have one and the wire is extremely irritating, it always moves the mouse. buy the Mamba, wayy better and looks even awesomer
@Mnemosyn3 Instead of being a prick, read what i said. the wire is rigid, and because of that it pushes the mouse back if force is applied along it, which is extremely annoying, especially for FPS.

The jitter may be reduced, but in exchange you have fucking acceleration that changes from medium to high at different speeds. That is shit.

(unless charging) the imperator does. in a limited desk space, where wires are bent in places so they can be out of sight behind the desk, when you move the imperator forward for example, the rigidity of the wire forces it back a little. if the wire was really soft, youd be able to move the mouse anywhere with little resistance from the wire. but soft wires are usually delicate. therefore, wireless(mamba)= better.
I bought an Imperator a while back, and I can honestly say it's one of the best mouse out there. However, there are a few issues - it randomly shuts down (happens like once a week, but can really be annoying if you were in the middle of a SC2 clan war), and it gets dirty stains if you use it a lot.) But other than that, it's a great gaming mouse. Also, they fixed the Z-axis problem not long ago so that's cool too.
Avoid this mouse and avoid buying Razer products! This mouse will randomly stop responding either in games or on desktop. Only unplugging/plugging the mouse back in or restarting your computer will fix it. Imagine for this to happen during an intense online play. This mouse is made for and is recommended by "pro gamers", isn't it? How could those scumbags who recommended it not have noticed this issue? It's not just a "lemon", the problem is all over the internet. For $80, this is unacceptable.

I have no idea what everyone else whines about...I got this for $70 on Amazon and its AMAZING. I mean really, its so badass, if a game lags at all the mouse movements won't. And its nice and comfortable, with the side buttons moved to a perfect spot. I just love this mouse so much :P

@MyThIcaL343 Dunno what the problem for that might be...maybe you have something configured wrong or the cable's frayed and you haven't noticed. My brother also told me before buying that some reviewers said it has a tendency to glitch, but mine's been working fine so far. BC2 is a sick game also.
All in all, if you're continuing to have problems I say call customer service or something. Or get another mouse if its bothering you THAT much.
I use a damn 8$ Logitech standard optical mini mouse for gaming... I do just fine lol. I don't understand why people invest so much money on these stuff. Admittedly, I DO own a Razer Deathadder, but I only use it when playing in tourneys because it looks waaayyy cooler than other mice lol. Other than that, I use my 8$ mouse for everyday hardcore gaming. I get to 100 ish apm on SC 2 and 280-340 apm on BW just fine. For keyboard I use a Logitech standard black keyboard. :)
I own an Imperator at the moment and I'm having no problems with it. I'm using it on it's full precision at 5600DPI and on the Razer Vespula mat on the precision side.
I'm using it for both gaming and graphic design and it works just fine.
My one problem with Razer and its fans, dpi does NOT mean "Precision" you're aim will be WAY less precise if you have a crazy high dpi. The most precise gamers use lower dpi, even as low as 800.

@Oneya1987 its a really good mouse for FPS games like CS , MW2 , L4D2 and other games too , it allows you to adjust the side buttons to your liking so you could macro some important moves you wanna use on your mouse...after i brought it , its fucking amazing , I never had a 23 killstreak with a sniper in MW2 after i brought it! and the mouse grips so WELL in your hand you could never lose grip of it!
only thing is when i shutdown my pc by cutting the electricity off i have to replug my mouse again. (same problem with lachesis but the lachesis has it al the time.)

I had the diamondback 3G and it was simply amazing, no problems, just pure excellence. My next on the list is the Mamba, the Imperator is a Mamba without wireless connectivity.

Well im not saying its bad in general. Im just really saying it takes a little while to get used too, cause it kinda feels a bit weird with the z-axis tracking but people can definitly get used to it. Some people didnt even notice the z-axis tracking at all cause its not tht big of a problem, its something u can ignore really.

Yes im afraid it does have that problem. So does the Lachesis,Mamba,Naga. Its a problem with the Philips twin laser sensor that razer uses. It will never get fixed, its just how that laser is .
@hahay16 well if u repeatedly lift the mouse and put it down really fast that happens....but who does that while playing FPS?? i brought myself one and it had blown me away...I never expect myself to get rid of Smokers so fast from rooftops in L4D2 with my combat rifle , I never expected to play 8 hours without getting my hand tired , and I never expected myself to miss a single shot from my Intervention Sniper rifle in MW2...this mouse kicks ass!

I own this mouse and i also own the logitech G500 and i prefer the G500 because this new razer imperator has the same exact laser as the razer lachesis which i hated it!
they should of stayed with the laser 3G ( deathadder ) for this one. it really suck for fps.
I have this mouse, and it's very nice. I don't have small hands, and I found that this mouse still fit very nicely.
Notes: Inside the box are a bunch of goodies, which i appreciate, The mouse isn't too expensive, i got mine for around 90 bucks Canadian. It's quite comfortable and the lighting isn't too bright or distracting. And the chord is very well secured in a thick nylon type of thing, it'd take an effort to sever.
pretty much all razer mice are good for FPS games. The Mamba is made for gamers who use a palm grip and the Imperator can be used for both palm and fingertip grips. depends on what you like

@Oneya1987 its a really good mouse for FPS games like CS , MW2 , L4D2 and other games too , it allows you to adjust the side buttons to your liking so you could macro some important moves you wanna use on your mouse...after i brought it , its fucking amazing , I never had a 23 killstreak with a sniper in MW2 after i brought it! and the mouse grips so WELL in your hand you could never lose grip of it!

the z axis problem is solved with a new patch.
i dont have any problems with the mouse any more.
only thing is when i shutdown my pc by cutting the electricity off i have to replug my mouse again. (same problem with lachesis but the lachesis has it al the time.)

newrer buy a reazer mouse because their goal are gamers which sometimes get angry and prees the boutons realy hard and the gets mouse is broken fery fast so rether buy any other mouse(ADVICE SOMEONE IS EARNYING MONEY ON YOU)

I had the diamondback 3G and it was simply amazing, no problems, just pure excellence. My next on the list is the Mamba, the Imperator is a Mamba without wireless connectivity.

Well im not saying its bad in general. Im just really saying it takes a little while to get used too, cause it kinda feels a bit weird with the z-axis tracking but people can definitly get used to it. Some people didnt even notice the z-axis tracking at all cause its not tht big of a problem, its something u can ignore really.

Yes im afraid it does have that problem. So does the Lachesis,Mamba,Naga. Its a problem with the Philips twin laser sensor that razer uses. It will never get fixed, its just how that laser is .

yes but it only matters if you lift the mouse which you will hardly do since you have such a high DPI mouse
Though its mainly a problem for MMO gamers who sometimes have to lift the mice

@hahay16 well if u repeatedly lift the mouse and put it down really fast that happens....but who does that while playing FPS?? i brought myself one and it had blown me away...I never expect myself to get rid of Smokers so fast from rooftops in L4D2 with my combat rifle , I never expected to play 8 hours without getting my hand tired , and I never expected myself to miss a single shot from my Intervention Sniper rifle in MW2...this mouse kicks ass!

No the Razer Imperator does not have any problems with the Z-Axis. I've seen a clip when playing MW2 (THE PROBLEM) but that was just setup fail...

Yes I took mine back after 1 day and got another deathadder
If you even pick up up off its feet - at all, it stops working, then when you sit it down the pointer jumps down the screen 3+ inches
But i guess if you never pick your mouse up it would be fine

I own this mouse and i also own the logitech G500 and i prefer the G500 because this new razer imperator has the same exact laser as the razer lachesis which i hated it!
they should of stayed with the laser 3G ( deathadder ) for this one. it really suck for fps.

I have this mouse, and it's very nice. I don't have small hands, and I found that this mouse still fit very nicely.
Notes: Inside the box are a bunch of goodies, which i appreciate, The mouse isn't too expensive, i got mine for around 90 bucks Canadian. It's quite comfortable and the lighting isn't too bright or distracting. And the chord is very well secured in a thick nylon type of thing, it'd take an effort to sever.

You can't really say that a mouse is "better" then another. the mamba and imperator are 2 completely different mice so use the style you like

pretty much all razer mice are good for FPS games. The Mamba is made for gamers who use a palm grip and the Imperator can be used for both palm and fingertip grips. depends on what you like
