rockford frostgate beats out all these subs man. KIckers are good depending on which ones you buy. Pioneers are the same way. I dont know about Dd's though. But i know that rockford frostgate is probly the best out there. But Subwoofer sound depends a lot on the type of box it is in. Different boxes create different types of bass. So you could have a shit kicker, put in the right box, with the right amp, and the right amount of airspace, and it hit just as hard as two 12's or even a 15.

Btw, how do they play on the lower notes? Seeing as how they are little 8's and your box is tuned to 38hz... I never really got a chance to try mine out, I think I'll end up building a new box first, I think its just over a cube and tune to 38.

Project dual 1508 is on tap for 2009!  I just can't decide if I want to break my old Linear Power 5002 out of storage, get a high voltage mod for it, and run 1,100 watts @ 8 ohms bridged on two S4 1508s or just get a MMATS D1600.2 and call it a day?
