Fun Drive. LaFever Road was named after my Grandfather. I lived in Cordova 1939 to 1942. My Uncle Raymond LaFever fished there until he died in about 1999.
I came back for a visit in 2003. Thanks for allowing me to see it in the snow. Not sorry we left, or I too would have been a fisherman, a hard life.
i have two questions. 1. are pickup trucks in 2wd okay to drive in that much snow on the ground or on ice with the proper tires? 2. were you driving in 4wd, and if you were how fast can you go in 4wd?
Yes you can drive in 2wd in that snow, just take things slower and more carefully. A good heavy lugged mud and snow tire makes things easier, but 4wd is the preferred method. I was mostly in 2wd except when I got to the intersection. You can go up to freeway speed in 4wd in snowy conditions, but you can not stop any faster than 2wd.
I think the first car to the left is me in my 94 dodge cummins, haha awsome. This is pretty much rush hour durring the night you dont see cars pass, you can do whatever you want...
Man I live in Stinking Washington dc suburbs which is 35 miles (56km)and it takes one hour to go 6 miles (10km) and when your from Washington and visited Canada over 7 times in winter you get frustrated
Every where has its ups and downs with driving, I wish sometimes while driving, I could pull through a drive through burger joint! We don't have fast food here :(
Thanks for the compliment! It does get chilly around here, but according to the calendar, it is spring now! But you couldn't tell that by the fresh snow we got today!

you didn't have one car in front you the whole commute...I'm jealous. I get 5 in front of me just pulling out of my driveway

Another great vid!
Is 32 degrees a normal temp for this time of year?
jaikesghost 5 years ago
Yes it is. We range normaly from the low 20's to the mid 30's for most of the winter, with the occasional dip into the single digits.
