Hello Erik first of all I wanna say thank you for doing all your videos and sharing all your knowdlege with whoever wants it. Im a very begginer on this but I really want to learn it. no disrespect but i think your lip roll exercises are a bit wrong, when you hit the higher notes in the scale going up it goes into falsetto, was that the intention? sounds like your throat is closing off BUT before you guys destroy me for saying this i've watched your videos where you sing and you sing beautifully, very professional no flaws at all, i just had to say something about the exercise in this video

Eric thanks so much for the lesson and advices ;) i'm not a native english speaker, and i'm in a band where we have to sing a couple of english songs and i find it quite hard to sing in a proper native english accent (pronounciation, diction etc) maybe you could make a video about it or perhaps a tip or two? thanks again!

...I do think you can learn basic techiques, riffs and tonal motifs found in soul music - just as an opera singer can learn to "darken" their tone to sing a negro spiritual. Also, people who are coined "soulful" also have a certain type of vibrato - which in many cases is not necessarily innate or natural...
