This song makes me always kind of mellow! Years ago I met Steve Wariner in The Netherlands. Very nice guy and outstanding musician. We did some gigs and a radio-concert as an accompany-band with him. Ever since this special song was a favorite on our repertoire.
I first heard this a few years ago, when my brother, who had Glen Campbell's collection 1962-1989 CD. This song was the seventeenth track on the second CD. He played it for me, and I thought it was a beautiful song. One day, after many times of hearing it, we decided to try our hand at singing it. We did so to a bunch of women, including our mother, and we made them all cry. Nowadays, we try to sing it on mothers' day, and at karaoke. I'd like to thank Glen and Steve for this unforgettable song.

Wonder why Glen's style is to drop his r's when he sings? Seems disrespectful, right? Anyway, Glen and Steve hit #6 in Billboard, 9-12-87. God bless!

@tegan2341 I have been thinkin How Hard It Must Have Been For Mary to Know Who Her Son Was...
Plus had to See Him Crucified.
She Had a Very heavy Burden.
And She Kept Him Safe While he was a Child.
Poor Mary. She Truly had a Sorrowful Heart.
