Yes, the Gospel originated from Torah and the prophets. "Christianity" (faith in a Messiah, the same Messiah) started when God told Adam and Eve about the seed of the woman who would crush the serpent's head. That is the foundation of all prophecy of Scripture. Messiah was to be born which is to come in the flesh. The question is when where and who which was answer with later prophecies. So many people missed it and so many people miss it to this day.
So you believe G-d is love? How about those who were born in times and places where they had no chance to hear about the good tidings? Is their place in the 'eternal torment of hell' and if yes, would G-d still be righteous?
We are all without excuse. G-d knows if they would have believed or not. Our concern is to do everything that is in our power to bring everyone the good news of what G-d has done for us Himself. It is evident but we still need to make sure that everyone has heard this message that is able to change our lives for the better and give us the hope of eternal life with G-d.
So in your world view G-d is a blood-thirsty tyrant who condemns to eternal fire whoever has not the capacity or chance to "believe" in order to be saved? Where in the Hebrew Bibe is it stated that you have to "believe" in something in order to be "saved"?
God is not responsible for what we do. We are responsible for what we do and we also pay for what our fathers did. That is God's word.
G-d told Abraham to be perfect. Abraham believed G-d. The requirement is perfection. We must believe in G-d's provision that He gave Himself. The L-rd will provide Himself the lamb and in the mount of the L-rd (Moriah/Jerusalem), it will be provided. We cannot keep His word unless we believe it. Hebrew scriptures require that we believe or bad things happen.
