This song together with Beneath the Surface, breaking all illusions, Outry and on the backs of angels are my favourite. They really carry some feel that represents Dream Theater originality.
Im sorry to say Foo Fighters do not even come close to Dream Theater. Why was this song not nominated for The Grammy. This is a song that will never get old...a true classic.
@SPedro1011 I don't think it would be that bad. Besides that, they produce their albums by them selves and this time it was Petrucci... To bad some parts of their album where really good and some really sucked.
i didn't like on the backs of angels as much as the other old DT stuff but this proves to me that DT made a fabulous return, My fave on DTOE was Bridges In The Sky!
@GeorgeADTOE well, they sound more DT the classic style, but portnoy was the one who wrote a lot of songs, the background voices in other ones, the author ot the 6 steps of his rehababilitation, and he made most of the arrengments for the tours and concerts, and an extraordinary drummer... DT is really fantastic in this album too, but mike portnoy was a really important element in DT
@GeorgeADTOE This new DT album is a masterpiece indeed but this is not due to the new drummer. Lets thank Mike for the great job he did with DT and wish him good luck with his new projects.

@juamposo You are just another hypocrite bastard. Few months ago his name said nothing to you, but now you consider him being incredible. Is he not the new DT drummer? I showed respect when I bought their new album. Now, respect yourself and stop jerking off. Ok, mate?
@Misanthropist0803197 What the fuck do you know about me!? I know Mike Mangini since, at least, 3 or 4 years ago, he was drummer of Steve Vai and James LaBrie's solo albums to name a few, so his name DO said something to me a few months ago. He IS an incredible musician, IN Dream Theater and OFF Dream Theater, I'm not a shitty fanboy as you may think, so stop talking me like that. Who the hell do you think you are, MATE!?
@DisobedientChild85 c´mon they forget the epic progresive , i love DT but in the last 2 albums the only song i can say its amazing its "wither" i want a album like six degrees or, somethinh like new milenium their best moment was in the budokan!!! amazing concert still love DT but i wish more of them (as u can c my english suck and i know)
@NitzMr88 When you talk about the last two albums are you including this one or do you include "systematic chaos" aswell? (Because I really like that one) I agree that Wither was one of the good ones from the last album, but I also love The best of times, The count of Tuscany is really nice to listen to and the lyrics for A rite of passage... + A nightmare to remember is pretty cool. On this new album there is also alot of great songs, this is just one of them...
@NitzMr88 It's hard to pick a favourite album or a favourite songs because there are so many extremely good ones...Here is some of the ones I love: Octavarium, The answer lies within, Solitary shell, Hollow Years, Take away my pain, The spirit carries on, Through her eyes, Anna Lee, The minestry of lost souls, In the presence of enemies(1 and 2), The dark eternal night, Panic attack, This is the life, Far from heaven, Breaking all illusions, Benath the surface, Bridges in the sky and many more!!
@DisobedientChild85 nice songs (The answer lies within, Solitary shell, Hollow Years, Take away my pain, The spirit carries on, Through her eyes) but my favorites are Space Dye Vest, lifting shadows off a dream, scarred, six degrees of inner turbulance, under a glass moon, new milenium, Stream Of Consciousness,
dammm they have a lot of great songs, but i still thinking in the last 3 albums including this one the music its more darkness, jordan and his church organ, and labrie distortion
@NitzMr88 I guess we agree that they have alot of great songs ;) I like the darkness in the songs aswell as the epicness of others...But I like metal so that's a part of my music taste aswell as the deep soul-reaching songs. Lyrics are also really important to me, that is why I love the Octavarium song...I don't really think the last album has alot of darkness in it and I believe the reason is that Mike Portnoy tried to make a new sound for DT that was more on the heavy side and now he is gone..
@DisobedientChild85 any way mike could do a great job in avenged, he was my fav drummer, and agree this album its less darkness but still do it, i dont like to much heavy but train of tougth oooooo meee amorshhh!!!(OMG = spanish)) was far the best progresive heavy album ever, i hear any kind of music i mean im not a close mind, and for me in all the genres DT can play all kind of music but they have his own style and its unique i want to hear a DT album instrumental and experimental music
@08Revelator Lol do u have a social problems? ok avenged have another drummer and u are brilliant becasue u know that, chill out enjoy the music, and respect the others
My only social problem I have is ignorance of the obvious. It has been many months since the "Avenged thing" was put to rest. Just get with the program.
Beautiful song right here. And James Labrie never sounded better. it's very obvious that the Band was very focused when they recorded this Album. it's Fantastic.
