It wasnt Leno that stabbed him in the back it was NBC. Jay Leno Show bombed, Conan lost #1 to Letterman for late night when Leno always had it and the 11:00 news took a hit in ratings as well. NBC knew it was cheaper to put Leno back on Tonight Show, ratings went back up & give Conan his 40million for contract break. NBC screwed Conan, but they looked at it as business.

i think the fact that he was promoted to his dream job of the host of the tonight show then having that dream pushed to a later time simply because of bad ratings and the fact that jay leno not stepping down the after passing on the torch as it were is the actual problem plus nbc attempted to do something like hold his contract so he could not work for any one else but he quit the show if i am correct because he did not want to push back the other late night shows on nbc honestly i'm with coco
