Are these videos made by americans who dont know there are 2 different rugby codes? The amount a Rugby League that is in videos like this. And so many of the tackles are illegal in the game most would have resulted in penalties.

Im actually very interested to know if anyone has a clue what the outcome of 1:12 hit on Larkham (i assume) would be nowadays... I watched it over and over a couple times and i see Larkham offload so he does not have the ball, however the other guy just makes himself solid and larkham runs into him... do we reckon that would be a penalty nowadays? If he'd run into larkham i'd say late tackle no arms etc.. but he was stationary... just an interesting point thats all...

But consider this. A player chips the ball over the heads of the defenders... now the defenders have no obligation to get out of the way, the only thing they can NOT do is move INTO the way.. so if they are already in the way they can stay where they are if they want...

Hence why i wonder about this.. He stood still and did not move into the way, did not commit to the tackle, merely braced himself for impact...

High tackles, late hits on kickers, side-entry at rucks taking out the scrummie. This isn't a great advert for rugby since most of what I've just seen would result in a yellow card.

And someone asked about armour: In rugby you can wear soft padding of a certain thickness (not sure what that is). It can't bee too thick and it certainly can't be stiff, but padding is aloud and probably most pros these days wear it. Probably a large number of amateurs as well.
