learning ASL and becoming more familiar with the death culture, I find it pretty disgusting that a parent would say "Part of me died" when they heard their child was deaf. Honestly with universities like RIT and Gallaudet and deaf schools across the country , deaf people can be just as "mainstreamed" and DEFINITELY just as happy as hearing people!
