I think the song is about their working relationship with Madonna & Maverick. They would say she was kind of a tyrant and the record co. would stick their nose in the recording process. And there would be disputes with the label about money. But then after they cut ties with Maverick Chino may have realized they may have been better off with them. Kinda like being in a crazy relationship with someone and leaving. Only to find that later you miss them and wish they were around when you need them
