  • You have Really good Prices

  • How Strong should my iron be

  • @dtpman776

Around 30 watts should be good. The lower it is, the less you have to worry about doing heat damage. If you experienced at soldering, then a higher amount of watts can be used.

  • What camera did you use for this video?

  • @cookiecutter35

    Canon SX210 IS

  • how do i change the colour of the X in the dashboard button? and on your site do you sell clear plastic shells because i wanna put one of themon a controller, and if not do you think you can consider getting some?

  • @cianw10

I dont have a tutorial for installing leds in the buttons, but there are other guides on here. I dont have any clear cases, but I do have some chrome ones that arent listed on EvanMods.com. They are $40 and have leds in the buttons already.

  • @Evanator22742 no i didnt mean the LEDs on the buttons x y b a but the big X dashboard button :)

  • @cianw10

I was including that with the other ones. You use the same process for the X as you do for the other buttons.

  • @MrGamers1992

Yes, just select that as your country for delivery when checking out.

  • were can i get ur led lights

  • @robingraves97

    EvanMods.com

  • I was looking at ur video part1 and 2 and it looks simple or can u do for me

  • @redeagle653

I do have a service that you purchase with a rapid fire controller or service.

  • Is it hard to do it by yourself cause I'm thinking to mod my controller

  • @redeagle653

You will need to already be decent at soldering, but it isnt hard if you have experience.

  • Wats ur website so I can buy some LED lights

  • @redeagle653

    Evanmods.com

  • How can I purchase LED lights from you?

  • @TheKlempYz

You can just go to EvanMods.com, add the color of LEDs you want to your cart, and then go through Google Checkout to make the payment.

  • Do you post items to England or not?

  • @ghostbusterscam

    Sorry, I dont.

  • Does anyone know what size screwdriver you need to unscrew the controller? If so, how much do they cost?

  • @ghostbusterscam

I sell the screwdrivers at EvanMods.com

  • ok thnks

  • ok thankyou but i bought 22ohm resistors should i get 200 like you said???

  • @Deansvideos123

22ohms will work. Try only attaching one led at first though. You dont want to burn them out.

  • what points do u solder to keep the guide button lit if you know, im making a controller and i want the guide button to blink red while its on.........

    please write back

  • @Deansvideos123

The power straight from the battery is from the 5 points right in the middle of the circuit board. Attach a resistor (200 ohms or so) to one wire off of the led and attach the positive of the led to the far right pin on the board and the negative of the led to the 2nd pin from the left on the board. I am pretty sure this is how you do it. If not, then you can actually test combinations of the pins yourself, but remember to have the resistor on the led wire.

  • this vedeo sucks

  • @devilstix123

That is very constructive. That is why I made a new tutorial and uploaded it yesterday.

  • can u make a video showing how to install rapid fire using the evan mods kit

    thx alot

  • @iamFearedi I have videos for that on EvanMods.com. Go to the "videos" page and then select the "mod install tutorials" section.

  • How much is it for you to change 2 led

  • How much is it for the 4 led tranfere

  • @modmenow

The led change service is $15.

  • Could I send you the controller and you do it for me??

  • @jharris7TT

I do have a service for that. You can see that, along with all of my other products I sell at the EvanMods.com store page.

  • Ok, I have the controller opened up, I'm staring at the LED's I need to remove, and I am scared SHITLESS.

Here I go, I'll let you guys know how it turns out

  • I accidently ripped off the contact points =[ can you fix this?

I don't really care because it's an old one.

  • @cool567430

Sorry, but I cant do it for you. You can try though. Sadly this is the hardest thing to fix. First, locate the thin dark green line going to where the solder point should be. Then you will have to scrape off the green cover that is on the circuit board to show the copper underneath. Then solder the led to that thin line of copper. It will be ugly looking but you wont see it when you close everything up. Be careful not to scrape too hard or you may remove the copper line too.

  • where do I get the LEDs?

  • @iFuZexClan

    EvanMods.com

  • hi, in words can you explain how you take them off because its sorta hard to tell fromt his angle

so you add solder to iron and with the iron you like push it off? I cant really tell

  • @GotMontages

The best way is to just add solder to the iron and melt both sides at once. Try grabbing the led with your tweezers and remove the led. Just dont try to pull it off. It shouldnt take any force.

  • Hey do u have to use a TP3 controller to do this?

  • @DMAN1813

No, you dont. This will work with any controller.

  • I made my modded led controller using this tutorial. This is an excellent tutorial. If u would like to see my finished controller just click on my name = )

  • @Xmetal2thecoreX

    Im glad it helped.

  • i have a ? are you leds for the new controller.. and how do i tell if my controller is knew or old

  • @baltfan2052

They will work with any wireless microsoft controller. You can tell which kind of circuit board you have by looking at the pictures on my website. There is a "controller type" category.

  • @Evanator22742 thanks a lot.. helped

  • Hey I wanted to ask if I buy things off your site how long would it take for it to get to me?.. Is it legit?

  • @diogenesG14

From the purchase date, it will take no longer than a week for them to be delivered. I ship your order out within three days, but I usually send it in two days or the next day.

  • @Evanator22742 Alright thanks a lot, i appreciate it. Also mind if i messages a few more questions about the mods and so forth.

  • What type of solder should i buy?

  • @SkateFallenOrAdio

Any type that has a rosin flux core. Make sure it isnt acid core. The thinner it is, the better. It will melt quicker and make for faster soldering.

  • 3 questions man, lookin into doing this

1/can u place logos on the controller? and cost..?

2/how much to change colors of power button leds and how much to make the buttons on the controller light up?

3/can u change the color of the buttons, as in getting new ones and what not?

(please try to include your price for all of this if possible)

    /|\Thanks/|\

  • @itsamemariohahaha

    Answer to 1, 2, and 3:

I am glad you are wanting me to do this, but I dont offer any of what you are asking. You can buy the leds for around the power button and try yourself, but I dont offer a service for me to install them for you.

  • nice vieo but i have 2 questions 1 is the kynar wire on your website what u use to solder and do you do them for people and how would i send it to you if u do do it because i dont wanna mess up

  • @Punisher3678

    1) Yes, the wire that I sell is the exact same wire that I actually use. I have black wire now instead of the white that is in the picture though.

    2) Sorry, but I dont offer any send-in services. You shouldnt have a problem installing the mod kit if you have soldering experience.

  • u seem like a dentist

  • @ShroomingSquirrels

Hmm, I will have to look into that profession. ha

  • Bro you must get this question alot..... So where are the screw holes again

  • @Pughy2o06

There is a total of seven screws. Six of them are easy to find, with three being on each side. The seventh one is behind the bar code sticker where the battery pack goes. It is right in the middle of it. You can break through the sticker with your screwdriver or take the sticker completely off.

  • The only thing u have to do is solder the leds off the find the points an solder back?

  • @verdebaur

Just remove the old leds and solder on the new ones. Thats it.

  • Can u pick these leds up at radio shack?

  • @verdebaur

I havent seen a radio shack that supplies these since they arent used that much for diy projects.

  • What type of leds do u need and like whats the info on these.. I dnt no where to get these at.. Im gona do the 4 rings?

  • @verdebaur

I sell the leds at EvanMods.com

  • You think this also works with Wire Glue? pls reply thanks :D

  • @VliegevangerNL

    Im not familiar with that.

  • @Evanator22742 oh, and is it possible to just fuck the leds? like just remove the 4 so you dont have leds? Will the controller still work thx

  • @VliegevangerNL

Yes, you can do that and the controller will work fine.

  • @Evanator22742 thanks man. I like uploaders that help there viewers out :)

  • What do you do if some of the contact points come off the board? I'm only using a 25 watt iron, tried to be super careful but the dang points came off super easy. Is this controller now toast? Lights do not work obviously, not happy.

  • @CPyrnstein

Sadly this is the hardest thing to fix. First, locate the thin dark green line going to where the solder point should be. Then you will have to scrape off the green cover that is on the circuit board to show the copper underneath. Then solder the led to that thin line of copper. It will be ugly looking but you wont see it when you close everything up. Be careful not to scrape too hard or you may remove the copper line too.

  • Do you offer any service to where we can send our controller in and i could pay you for LEDs and swapping them out?

  • @XnSpireX

    Sorry, I dont.

  • This is by far the best tutorial vid i have seen for LED mod. I can do this now thanks to this vid. Thanks Evanator = )

  • @Xmetal2thecoreX

No Problem, Im glad it helped.

  • can you install these LEDs and install a rapid fire mod without effecting one another?

  • @rhcp0137

Yes you can. I have both in my controller and its awesome.

  • @Evanator22742 which should you start first? LED or rapid fire first?

  • @rhcp0137

I would start with the LED mod first since you will need to solder a wire to the 4th player led later.

  • i only have a 100 watt one is that too much ?

  • @NTcGaming

You will just have to be really careful to not heat the circuit board too much.

  • where can i get the l.e.d.s

  • @rice766

    At my site, EvanMods(.)com

  • Would a 15-Watt Soldering Iron be good for this ?

What kind of Soldering Iron are you using?

  • @dtrain078

A 15 watt will be good for this. You can use any of them from walmart or radioshack also.

  • @Evanator22742 Alright thanks

The 15 watt one was the one I seen at Radioshack also.

  • @Evanator22742 will a30 wattttttt workkkk

  • @lalo3100000

That will work good. Thats around what I use.

  • You make it look easy!

  • i ripped off the soder points off of the board.. any sugguestions/?>??

  • @XThreeSixtyModz

Sadly this is the hardest thing to fix. First, locate the thin dark green line going to where the solder point should be. Then you will have to scrape off the green cover that is on the circuit board to show the copper underneath. Then solder the led to that thin line of copper. • i addmit its hard did my bros red but it look sweet

  • how can you solder that ?????????

  • @tomascjensen

    I am special

  • my 1st and 4th players light orange its awesome

  • I've been told you need a certain watt Soldering Iron, care to clarify on this?

  • @lucaslucas24

It doesnt "have" to be a certain watt soldering iron but there is less of a chance of over heating anything if you use a lower watt. I use a 35.

  • whats the silver stuff

  • @LIGHTzPRODUCTION

    Solder

  • Can you tell me where u got those tweezers or where I can get better ones? I did 3 controllers with my sisters and it sucks. The lights work but its all crooked. So I need good tweezers. Please get back to me asap

  • @h21j3

I am not even sure. I have had them for a long time. I may have just gotten them at walmart.

  • i did this now the leds wont light up except the first one.

  • @CurtisRedfield

First, try adding a little solder to each side of every led. If that doesnt work then remove it and make sure it is facing the right direction. Change your batteries out also to make sure they are all getting enough power.

  • @Evanator22742 Thanks for the quick response haaha i looked closer and it was missing the missing the metal thing on the end of the led. but watever. i had more. thanks for the tip and video

  • @CurtisRedfield

Your leds may be facing the wrong side,, (+ and -)

  • I tried this but I found it so hard to install the leds I managed to take it all off ok but installing the LEds is so so so so so hard :) Subscribed though

  • surface mount is the best u can set the temp and not damge other circits

  • can i buy one from you

  • what happens if the buttons fall out

  • is there no video how to put LED on the x,y and a,b buttons

  • could you mod a controller for me?

  • What kind of LEDs are those

  • what kind of soldering gun do you use to do this with? im putting a mod kit in my xbox 360 controller and got to solder to the leds what do you recommend useing to solder to the leds?

  • @xGODLYxSKiLLeDx666x

I use a 35 watt soldering iron from walmart. It doesnt have to be anything special.

  • can you install mine please? i have the lights but tell me what i need to do so you can do it

  • @SoULja51NGH

I actually just stopped doing the led and mod services. Im sorry but I cant do this for you any more.

  • @Evanator22742 how cum man?

  • @SoULja51NGH

It doesnt bring in as much money as my other items for the amount of time it takes.

  • @Evanator22742 if you were to install mine how much would you charge me? i have the leds but i dnt have an iron and i dnt want to brake my controller

  • if i wanna light up my whole controller how do i get them power???

  • the led contact points fell on my controller with the led any suggestions

  • @MartinT916

You ripped off the solder point to led? Sadly this is the hardest thing to fix. First, locate the thin dark green line going to where the solder point should be. Then you will have to scrape off the green cover that is on the ciruit board to show the copper underneath. Then solder the led to that thin line of copper. It will be ugly looking but you wont see it when you close everything up. Be careful not to scrape too hard or you may remove the copper line too.

  • @Evanator22742

thanks il just leave it like that.....dont want to mess anything up.....Do you still sell mods in your website?

  • when u going to get more controllers in stock because i have been watching your videos and i really want to get one but they are out of stock.

  • hi, can u put leds into any hole in the mother board 2make the whole controller flash if u have a clear case? plz respond ;D

  • @oOoRHYSoOo

You can put leds any where they will fit.

  • @Evanator22742 but arent differeny holes for different things?

  • @oOoRHYSoOo

What holes are you refering to?

  • I noticed you put the circuit board on a usps box. Is this safe to do? btw nice tutorial!!

  • @h21j3

    Why wouldnt it be safe?

  • @Evanator22742 I don't know I was asking you lol. Static or whatever. Also about the soldering iron, you have a 30 watt right, but I am getting a 15 watt iron and does this mean I have to have more contact time between the solder and the iron than you did? because it only took you 1 second to melt the solder.

  • what kind of led's do i need? an what kind of soder?

  • how much would everyhting cost!!? tell me what is neccesarary!?

  • @raymoney07

For the LED mod you will need the LEDs, a soldering iron, solder, and some tweezers. LEDs from my site ($4), soldering iron ($10-$15), solder (sometimes comes with the soldering iron), tweezers ($1-$5).

  • how much do you charge for you to do it for us?

  • @DarkMace72

    The led service is $10.

  • thx dude this video helps i got my order from u like a hour ago and installled them with this vid thx

  • i see the iron u have in this video what type and i ges i probably guess i can get at walmart or radioshack

  • @devilspawn2479

The one I am using in this video is a butane solering iron/blow torch from Home Depot.

  • what kind of saudering iron tip do you use. mine melt after a couple hours of sauldering

  • @devilspawn2479

I just buy the soldering iron offered at walmart or radioshack and use the standard tips that come with them.

  • Were can I bye the LEDs?? And good vid

  • What solder do in need to buy an where can j get the bigger LEDs for the middle

  • @IHDesigns

Any kind of rosin core solder will work. The thinner, the better though since it takes less time to melt it and less chance to damage anything. And what do you mean for the middle LED?

  • Hey i have a question. So when you first started doing this did you like completely just MESS up your controller? because i tried and i totally screwed it over.... HAH... how do you practice?

  • @MrThomasp94

I suprisingly didnt mess up anything when I started. I did soldering in school and that is pretty much the only practice I had.

  • @MrMoonWalkerxx

I just use a $10 one from walmart.

  • Dude, you still have it all together..

Ov course the buttons arnt going to fall out?

  • Dude were can you get the LEDs?

  • What's the name of the LEDs for the xbox and controller

  • hey i want to LED swap on my controler im not great with a solder tool will be able to do this???????

  • @GJUnLeAsHeD

The LEDs are extremely small and I know of numerous stories of people ripping off the LED contacts when taking them out but I dont find it difficult anymore. I have done my fair share of LED swaps though. You will need to use tweezers and make sure not to force the LED when you remove the green ones and you should be fine.

  • @Evanator22742 I know what you mean. I have the proper equitment and know how to solder SMD LED's and the amount of times people come to me and go "will you fix it for me?" when they've ripped the pads off the board. Its just stupid

  • @Evanator22742 I know what you mean. I have the proper equitment and know how to solder SMD LED's and the amount of times people come to me and go "will you fix it for me?" when they've ripped the pads off the board. Its just stupid

  • Yep, im sure that's it lol. Thanks.

  • Sorry ask, but like the little second piece your using to melt off into getting the little gred L.E.D. off whats that?

  • @BateslvsTaylor

    Solder?

  • were do you get the led lights

  • @ownshotgunner

    EvanMods(.)com

  • what's the second piece called your using to solder off them old green leds??

  • ok when your taking them apart. What's the second piece your using to melt them off with, When your using the soldering gun, what's that piece called?

  • @BateslvsTaylor

I think what you are asking about it just the solder.

  • How do i solder back a led on the xbox 360 controller that has no solder left on the point?

On my controller, i was soldering blue leds and on the last one i had trouble because the soldering point had no solder left because it was with the stock (green) led. I tried putting solder back on and it wouldn't stick on the point. I have tried flux but that didn't work. What should i do that works? please help!!!!

  • @funny962

You ripped off the solder point to the power for the led.

  • @Evanator22742 i did it the my hand slips and removed the chopper line :'(. now i have to convince my mom to send in the controller to you....

  • hi can ya help i dont know wot i done but i changed player 1,2 and 4 ok but wen i went to do player 3 it wudnt work then i noticed 1 side had no solder so i put some were it shud be but it still did nothin is there anything i can do to fix it ? if not 3 awesome lights is better then non lol
