GREAT Band, they have some gothic, but I think it's more folk, that's what Vinland Saga,(the album) is. Liv said it herself. If you have the album, it's mostly about warriors, and stuff like that. GREAT album :), this band got me into studying the Viking runes and the Vikings in general. Love that time period, of Scandinavia. :D

People over the ages have fought for a wide variety of things, starting from the most obvious, power. Then came the religion, ideals, the sense of pride.
Although wars always ignite from need. Was it land, money, revenge, power, freedom, oil, in the minds of old men it would be the only solution, and for that the young die, like they always have, and will.

And when it is threatened people gang up like inferior pests and with force fight in the name of what they think and believe is right and just. And the winning side, this is stereotypical of beings in this verse, the winning side makes the losing side subservient and control and indoctrinates them into their own ways. The war in the Middle East is over religion. The UN maybe there and certainly the United States are there for Democracy. But even is we weren't there, there would still be war. The two Ancient Religions of Abraham are at war with each other. And have been for Centuries. In particular since 1948 When Israel became a Nation.

Not going to argue with that. But it is foolish to think that the was over there are only about the land. The land war on Israel's side are the Land's given to them by Yahweh. And thus religion is brought in by them if noone else.

Actually, Christians didn't do that to the Vikings when they came to conquer Great-Brittain. They did so after, and especially towards the muslims in Israel and all the countries in between Israel and the Western Europe countries, especially France.

The REAL Christians did not even kill the Muslims. Let's not for get that it was the Greedy church in Rome that started that "Crusade." The real Christians were also burned at the stake for printing the Scriptures because the church same a copy exactly like the first and thought it Witch Craft. It was also the REAL Christians that moved to stop the Salem Witch Trials. They weren't going around accusing people so Many of them were also burned as witches. Or hung

GREAT Band, they have some gothic, but I think it's more folk, that's what Vinland Saga,(the album) is. Liv said it herself. If you have the album, it's mostly about warriors, and stuff like that. GREAT album :), this band got me into studying the Viking runes and the Vikings in general. Love that time period, of Scandinavia. :D

yeah people really abuse the therm Gothic Metal.
IMO Gothic Metal is Lake of Tears, Deathstars, Moonspell, and bands similar to them...
I really hate the misconseption that if a band has a female vocalist and an orchestral they are automatically goth metal.
This is Symphonic Metal with Folk influences, or perhaps Atmospheric Symphonic Metal
