Just had thus procedure done under local anasthetic - 2 hours 15 munutes in the chair no pian but lots of drilling and banging - doctror did not put implants in wants to wait 6 months - have some discomfort but not too bad - will know in 6 months

this dentist should've used a surgical hand piece that doesn't blow air directly into surgical site. Using a regular hand piece as this dentist did is below standard of care.

Just had this exact surgery a week ago. Glad that I didn't see this video first!!! But having watched it, I now know why I am still having pain! Still taking antibiotics and usiing antibiotic mouthwash the doctor sent home with me. Hope I NEVER have to have this done again!!!! And YES, you are knocked out with heart monitors and oxygen on you..........Major surgery.

One of my implants failed, otherwise I wouldn't have to go through this again. Sucks. Implants are not worth it.

fuck... i had all of that done.. bone grafts sinus lift, and 11 implants. and i was awake for 5 hours and had 4 put in then another surgery for the rest. im glad im watching this after i had it done.

This is the first time I have actually looked at how they do a sinus life and place implants and, although I had to hide behind my hands a couple of times, thought the whole things amazing. I had both a sinus lift and implants fitted four years ago. I had the lift done and then 15 implants fitted. Although a long process getting to the end stage I have to say my lovely teeth were worth the pain. All of mine done in the dentists chair! Thank god for sedation!!

The "sinus lift" is needed because the patient doesn't not have enough bone in the maxillary jaw to hold those implants. That is why the sinus is lifted and synthetic or pig bone is placed. It will encourage bone growth in the area so that the implants can be supported.
