  • i have endo stage 4. i have had one surgery so far.

  • THE HORMONE MEDS OR PAIN PILLS DONT STOP MY PAIN I HAVE TO GET A HYSTERECTOMY NOW. IM NOT WORRIED CAUSE i HAVE ALREADY HAD KIDS.

  • @DanceFanatic1995 the endometriosis is like a spider web over the whole uterus and fallopian tubes!!! It's really severe

  • BAAAAAAAH WHAT IS HE DOING!?!

  • Will she have difficulties with fertility after this procedure?

  • @hannajade44 The procedure doesn't affect your fertility, it's endometriosis which can affect your fertility if it spreads far enough.

  • @BlaiddDrwg2009 The surgery can be at fault as well. When you have surgery, scar tissue develops and it's the scar tissue that endo and surgery causes you to lose fertility if the right scar tissue develops in a strategic area that causes you to lose fertility. So it's not just the endo that can affect fertility. Granted endo was the beginning cause, but it can be further complicated by surgery - or makes things much better. It depends on what develops.

  • @Laurieb2851 Ah thank you for clearing that up :)

  • @hannajade44 She could have difficulty or she could easily get pregnant. It's up to the endo and how much damage it has done or is doing.

  • what is that, i had a lap when i was 17 is that what i looked like w/ endo all over the place? :( i think it's on my intestines again

  • @LahomaK Everyone looks different. I personally had other things develop besides the endo. These problems caused my pelvis to be severely compacted. When it came time to do the surgery, my intestines flew out of my stomach and they couldn't find my uterus. It finally appeared smashed up against my pelvis bone. I was the best excuse on the planet. Maybe you'll be lucky. I hope pain isn't a problem for you. That can be very difficult to deal with. Do get checked if you suspect problems.

  • good

  • This can be an awful surgery. Mine was.

  • @Laurieb2851: All surgeries are awful, If the body was meant to be cut open then yevery one would have been born with zippers.

  • @4chango I would disagree with you. I've had a ruptured appendix, gallbladder taken out, bladder repair and none of them were as terrible as this surgery. It depends on if there is a lot of scar tissue and how much endo there is. If you've got a lot of either, it's a lot of surgery. I've known individuals who quit having pain with this kind of surgery - at least for a while. My daughter has just been diagnosed with endo and at first she didn't have pain after surgery, but she does now.

  • @Laurieb2851: WOW, that it horrible that you had all those surgeries, it is like they treated you like a piece of meat - don't know how to fix it, well cut it out. All those surgeries create multiple adhesions as well. Plus the thing with endo is that the surgeries create even more adhessions then there were before the surgery - so post-op you'll be worse off. That is why a naturopathic approach is more realistic with endo.

  • @4chango The only one of the surgeries that were a direct cause of endo was the ruptured appendix. They say endo doesn't kill - well if it eats up your appendix, it sure as heck can, lol! I likely had endo my entire reproductive life and never had any pain other then some menstral cramps. I took an aspirin once during the onset of my monthly cycle and was able to give it no further thought. Endo gave me no problems at all. (Continued)

  • @4chango (continued) That, unfortunately, is not everybody's experience. Some women have horrible pain the whole time and I really feel for them. My actual pain never started until I was given a steroid prescription that completely altered what I had going on with endo. What I found out for myself is that estrogen might affect endo and keep it going strong - estrogen is also able to affect pain in a positive way. Maybe endo is painful dying off when estrogen is taken away? Don't know.

  • @4chango If only it was a simple as just having a zipper.

  • Oh my goodness! how long did this poor woman suffer before she had this procedure done?

  • @Dalia383 I lived with severe endo and never even had pain from it. Once I had the surgery/hysterectomy I've had chronic pain ever since. The first year-and-a-half after surgery my pain was uncontrollable and severe. I found out that "enough" hormone replacement (HUMAN estradiol) could have a huge effect in controlling that pain. I still have chronic pain, but it's only 25% of what it was prior to increasing my human estradiol. There is a HUGE difference between Premarin and human estradiol

  • @Laurieb2851 Thanks Laurie. I was recently diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis and it sucks big time! I had laparoscopic surgery and am taking Lupron which has it's pros and cons. So far I don't have anymore pain, but I just pray that things will be ok when I'm ready to have children.

  • @Dalia383 Endo is so difficult to treat here in the U.S. I've heard other countries are a bit further advanced in their research. My daughter was just diagnosed with severe endo too. They say the more children you have the less chance of having it, but she's had three kids and still has it. Because Lupron supresses your own hormones, keep in mind that very thing might even cause you some pain and I'm not sure why. (continued)

  • @Dalia383 (continued) Hormone replacement isn't perfect, but it's all we have after hysterectomy. Estrogen supposedly feeds the endo, but my experience is that when I don't have estrogen, I have pain. My hips were so painful I couldn't lay on them and I only have mild arthritis. I'm wondering if estrogen doesn't perhaps play the role of nature's natural pain killer. I don't know what else to think when it lessons my pain to such a degree. Good luck to you.

  • thanks for uploading. I now have a better understanding of what a friend of mine is going to have done. Are you uploading the other 3 parts? Thanks again.
