To think that God himself would be humiliated and mutilated for a bunch of lowlifes like us is just incredible.
The same God who created the heavens and the earth in all their beauty would be brought down to the body of a lowly human and abused and tortured by humans.
How can one understand such a love?

The whole thing hinges on what you call faith to open the heart to such a belief system. What happens if you have read scriptures, gone to church and listened intently but still feel nothing? What are you meant to do to get this faith?

Faith is when you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and give you a new life and a home in Heaven. Being born again is not a feeling, it is a fact. When the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you at the moment of the new birth, things start changing.

Are you seeking Him by faith? Do you believe the Scriptures? You know there's a God, and that you are responsible to Him. Now you need to read the Bible and believe it and repent of your way and turn away from your way and trust Christ.

Exactly.. Jesus himself said that He only came to save sinners. So all those good folks out there with their self-righteousness have no hope.
If you aren't lost, you can't be found. If you aren't a sinner, you don't need a Saviour. But of course, we are all sinners, but we don't recognize ourselves in these dire straits.
Those of you who think you haven't sinned, read the book of Romans and particularly chapter 3. It's all there.
